Design, test and implement active and passive probing monitoring solutions for European Vodafone Local Markets and Centralized Deployments.
Provide end-to-end monitoring of various network domains capturing data for both signalling plane and user plane , generate and forward data feeds to northbound analytics platforms.
Design and implementation principles must radically ensure the effectiveness of OSS platforms while maintaining the cost at the optimum level, addressing at the same time technology evolution and digital transformation.
Project management and successful delivery based on milestones and timelines.
Responsible for solution design and implementation of passive probing initiatives.
Capacity planning and management, definition of platform roadmap addressing functional and non-functional requirements
Delivery of BAU and digital transformation initiatives (eg tools consolidation, reusability, process automation etc.)
Manage all activities related to planning, dimensioning and deployment of network probes according to traffic and customer forecast
Create and Update project documentation : indicatively HLD, LLD, project reporting, Acceptance TOL etc.
Capacity planning and management, definition of platform roadmap for functional and non-functional requirements
Building the probing strategy, being able to understand apart from short term, also medium long terms needs, study the historical trends and suggest the best way forward as well as the strategy both in market terms as well as the department terms.
Alignment of passive probing with network evolution (indicatively 5G, virtualization).
Proven work experience in OSS Probing Domain in the role of OSS Solution Design and Implementation.
Very good knowledge and proven experience on passive probing E2E solutions, from monitored network element up to application, mediation / export layer and feeding capabilities for external systems
Previous experience in Vodafone will be considered if available
Deep knowledge of telecommunication business in terms of IT and Network technologies and topologies. Strong knowledge of telecom technology and protocols e.
g. 2G, 3G, 4G, IP, 5G, fixed, mobile, M2M, IoT etc
Competence on 5G (NSA and SA) topology, network nodes, interfaces and monitoring aspects
Very good knowledge of IP and transmission data networks as well as NFV / SDN. Very good knowledge on traffic acquisition methods for both legacy and virtual environments : experience on vmware, openstack, KVM etc environments with regards to traffic acquisition techniques, experience on virtual tapping solutions, physical tapping and aggregation, basic knowledge and understanding of switching methods applicable for traffic monitoring (eg RSPAN, ERSPAN, mirroring, ACI, etc).
