Global Operations Center Engineer

Position Summary

The Operations Technician will be responsible for supporting Adobe’s internal and external mission critical applications.

Monitoring all aspects of the global infrastructure, providing first tier trouble-shooting and problem escalation as appropriate.

Accurately evaluate the severity of an incident to provide event notification and status to the right audience. Coordinates the resolution of system events across multiple functional teams to ensure the timely resolution of the issue.

Due to the 24 / 7 / 365 nature of the Adobe Operations Center, this role may require flexible or off hours work schedules.

Qualified candidates must be willing to work in a NOC environment, be willing to potentially work various shifts, and be willing to work weekends and nights on a rotating schedule (40 hours / week).

A willingness to do whatever it takes, a "go-getter" personality, is important.


  • Monitor Automated Systems that track the health and status of thousands of servers and associated network equipment : Linux, Cisco, HP, Network Equipment
  • Identify and participate in critical customer affecting events.
  • Properly respond to any problems using documented procedures.
  • Document all actions in online tracking system.
  • Maintain problem ownership and accountability.
  • Escalate appropriate issues to System Administration team.
  • Work with Engineering and Support as needed.
  • Requirements

  • 1-2 years towards a Bachelors' Degree or equivalent certifications / experience in information systems, computer science or other similar technology discipline.
  • Must be self-managed, responsive and dedicated to ensuring system uptime.
  • 1+ years of relevant job experience.
  • Experience with Linux or Unix.
  • Experience with Nagios, New Relic or other monitoring systems a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal skills (written and oral) and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of levels of personnel.
  • Superior customer service focus.
  • Results driven focus and ability to see issues through to completion in a timely manner.
