Our client, a global leading telecommunication company are recruiting for a Core PS Engineer to join their business in the Romania.

Responsibilities :

Ensures availability ad continous improvement / quality of services by providing 2nd line operations and maintenance support for the core PS services and the platforms / applications / solutions particular to the service

Resolve incidents by register, analyze, co-ordinate and guard progress, update incident tickets

Resolve incidents by co-ordinate 2nd / 3rd line supplier support

Implement changes by administrate, analyze, plan, check, feedback (propose alternatives), test (rollback checks) and

execute changes in line with change management process

Resolve problems by performing root cause analysis and implement changes for PS domain / services / elements

Manage or perform installation of network equipment and basic configurations of routing and switching equipment

on all Core PS systems

Coordinate and perform all required activities to recover from major network failures. Perform first line maintenance

using established operations procedures and practices. Supply work around solutions in case of persistent faults.

Actively improve efficiency and implement new tools supporting end to end quality improvement and visibility.

Responsible for operational acceptance new systems / applications

Responsible for the continuous performance of applications / systems by supporting performance management

process with Packet Switching domain / element specific investigations

Responsible for operational acceptance new systems / applications

Advices management in improvement proposals

Support and manage improvement projects

Coordination of tasks

Knowledge share within team (WIKI updates, documenting workarounds, working procedures)

Creates operational procedures for incident and problem management for 1st line departments

Monitor network and system performance.

Pro-actively provide input for capacity and performance planning processes

Proactively detects performance trends, identify reasons and propose corrective solutions

Proactively takes actions meant to contribute the network perception improvement

Offer adequate support (within SLA) on customer driven processes & operational Trouble Tickets

Make sure the incidental capacity issues or network problems are addressed efficiently

Proactively suggest changes in line with the guidelines set by the optimization teams in coordination with the radio

design team

7*24 hour 2nd line support through on call

Qualifications :

3+ years in operational mobile core PS support

ICT operations and maintenance experience

Strong understanding of mobile and ISP network architecture (GSM, GPRS, UMTS, IP, Internet)

CCNP Level or equivalent certification

Expertise in at least one of the below domains :

routers, switches and remote access servers , preferably Cisco, Huawei, Juniper)

network and routing protocols : EIGRP, OSPF, BGP , MPLS , MPLS-VPNs, QOS, Traffic Eng. etc.

network security (IOS access lists, VPN Concentrators, Access Servers , PIX, IPS, CheckPoint FW-1, IP Sec etc.)

network and performance monitoring.

ciscoworks , Tacacs , Radius , MRTG, HPOV

Mobile Packet Switched Core network (SGSN, GGSN, BG etc.)

In depth knowledge of SCTP, PDP, GTP protocols
