The Research Operations Manager is part of Sustainalytics’ ESG Ratings Research, which sits with Sustainalytics Environment Social Governance (ESG) research division.
The team conducts desktop research and collects Environmental, Social and Governance data for around 9,000 companies operating worldwide.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate leader for the Core Ratings Team (CRT) who can oversee the activities of 25+ team members operating from Canada and Romania.
Strategic leadership in the CRT team : support the different teams in the CRT division in delivering their mandate in the organization and contribute to the strategic direction of the organization.
Coaching and mentoring of team leads in their efforts to build strong performing and motivated teams.
Drive results : improve CRT research planning and delivery capabilities with a focus on quality and budget control; strengthen forecasting tools and analyze deviations and initiate corrective actions;
define key metrics for team success, establish reporting capabilities and collaborate with senior management about risks / challenges.
Content management : drive high quality research by enhancing analysis for newly emerging topics. Oversee capacity building initiatives.
Process Management : Design, map and improve business processes to generate the CRT products. Document critical processes in Standard Operating Procedures.
Analyze client complaints and implement corrective and preventive measures. Support a strong quality culture in the team and ensure quality assurance practices are consistently applied.
Project Management : Maintain the CRT project portfolio and encourage the use of project management best practices and tools
Technical Tools : Work with internal stakeholders to further develop the technical tools which are needed by the team to generate the CRT products.
Cross Functional Collaboration : The candidate of this role will work closely together with other internal colleagues within the Global Research Team but also other Sustainalytics teams.
Client Support : Respond to research inquiries (e.g. about a subject company) and support client calls regarding specific CRT research assessments.
Master’s degree, with at least 6-8+ years’ experience preferably in a research environment.
4+ years’ experience in an operational management. Proven experience with process and quality management. Preferably with Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate.
Relevant experience in people management.
Strong project management and execution skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with ease and manage competing interests.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong analytical skills and creative, problem-solving attitude; decisiveness.
Demonstrated passion for sustainability.
Candidate is comfortable to work in a dynamic, international environment.
