Analog Devices (www.analog.com) is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Systems Development Group (SDG) supporting a broad range of industry leading high-performance linear solutions and standard products in end applications such as industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare and communication systems.
The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for developing embedded device drivers and reference designs interfacing our products to various embedded processors including FPGAs.
As part of a cross functional team, the Embedded Software Engineer performs definition, development, implementation and documentation of the reference designs, support the embedded FPGA / HDL design team in testing, bring-up and debug;
and provide technical support for our global customers.
Responsibilities include :
Create and maintain device drivers and software projects for embedded systems, processors and microcontroller based platforms.
Work in close collaboration with the hardware team for developing new platforms.
Developing Reference Designs (hardware add on cards, software) and writing and publishing collateral such as Application Notes, Tech Briefs, Technical Articles, etc.
Provide customer support through the ADI Engineer Zone forum
Technical customer visits, to help them resolve designs issues.
Manage and coordinate multiple projects that run simultaneously.
Essential Skills and Competencies :
BS / MS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE) or Computer Science (CS) with relevant experience in the design, implementation, and support of embedded device drivers and software with at least 3 years industry experience
Have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong understanding of embedded processor and hardware architectures. Experience with software and hardware aspects of peripheral bus systems typically found on embedded processors, such as SPI, I2C, I2S, TDM and high speed parallel busses.
Experience with low latency interrupt and DMA systems. Experience with embedded OS / RTOS (Linux, MBED, etc.)
Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of software development languages, including but not limited to C, C+ + , Assembler and shell scripting.
Collaborate with European, US, China, and Philippines based hardware and software developers; provide project updates, and write functional and technical documents.
Have the ability to work independently and in a team to develop innovative solutions.
Must have excellent knowledge and understanding of mixed signal systems implementations.
Good understanding of analog and digital circuit design and debugging experience.
Experience with SCM (svn, git), cross compiler and in-circuit debugging tools.
Ability to comprehend large and complex technical documentation bases quickly.
Good understanding of electronics and embedded systems
