The Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring allocated internal projects are tracked, managed and implemented in an effective manner, to the required specification and within budget.
Demonstrating excellent leadership and teamwork is essential to ensure engagement models are followed and all relevant parties are updated on project progress regularly.
A key aspect of the role is the effective communication across internal and external boundaries without exception ensuring clarity on workload management, scope, deliverables, activities and timescales.
Formal project management methodologies are to be utilised as per the IME standards and project matrix.
Agree and oversee with the customers the scope, deliverables and acceptance criteria for projects
Accountable for ensuring the right level of resource available for projects which require support through load balancing between temporary and permanent resource.
Also look to utilise Talent’ within the organisation
Ensure all documentation required for the projects scale are created, revised and communicated
Ensure effective and timely communication between members of project team (fixed term and temporary) internal and external by use of formal communications and reporting strategy adherence
Accountable for ensuring all required Project Management documentation in line with expectations
Through effective leadership, drive excellence in Project Management by working with either IM Project Management Methodology or recognised practice
Principal point of contact for project team members during project phases as defined by the overall engagement model
Accountable for ensuring a framework is in place which delivers timely and accurate reporting on project milestones as directed by management requirements
Accountable for ensuring risk assessments are carried out in a timely manner
Responsible for escalating where necessary and working closely with key stakeholders to ensure departmental targets are achieved
Accountable for ensuring a framework is in place which identifies issues, risk and change control management and communication
Through leadership and coaching, ensure a programme in place to evaluate the success of the projects against recognised benchmarks and share lessons or best practice with team members

Excellent Project Management skills including Microsoft Project

Able to communicate effectively and in a timely manner
Able to negotiate and reach compromise to ensure project completion
