Job vacancy Finance Manager, General Ledger The EMEA General Ledger team is centralized in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and is seeking a Manager who is passionate about finance processes and leading people.
The team is covering a diverse range of accounting activities, assuring the compliance and control and being a business partner for different functions.
As a Manager, you will provide leadership, guidance and operational support to the General Ledger Team who will directly report to you.
You will have the opportunity to closely collaborate with people from different teams and countries in EMEA, APAC and the United States and bring your contribution in streamlining and improving Steelcase’s financial processes. Mission :
Monitor daily operations and team performance of accounting processes. Adjust and allocate the tasks depending on the workload and priorities.
Lead a direct report of 7-9 people. Provide leadership, guidance and support to staff members and provide accounting expertise when needed.
Establish and maintain KPI and track the team’s dashboard.
Lead strategic projects together with the team and with business partners aimed at delivering the maximum strategic value and continuous improvement, which includes automation and digitization projects.
Oversee the training for new joiners per the training or onboarding plan.
Provide an efficient interface between the accounting managers, financial Business Partners and the team to perform all tasks requested in a complete and accurate manner.
Participate to month-end close by coordinating the closing schedule, insuring an efficient communication between the GL team and different business partners and reviewing balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
Implement the company global strategy within the local Finance team
Liaise with managerial staff and other business partners, provide consulting and finance advisory support
Ensure the general ledger processes comply with business ethics, applicable laws, regulations & confidentiality standards.
Education / Experience :
Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 7 years of Finance experience, ideally in accounting, with in-depth functional expertise, including 3 years in managing a team
Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization
Fluent in English; French or German will be considered as a plus
Skills / Abilities :
Strong working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office suite. Understanding of terminology and tools relevant for the position
Leadership Skills : Strong planning, management, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrate experience in developing and leading high performing and self-directed teams.
Leads through team empowerment.
Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Proven experience in driving initiatives to improve processes and managing projects : establishes priorities and target dates, acquires vital resources, and coordinates implementation
Drive and ability to problem solve and make decisions
Communication Skills : Demonstrates strong presentation skills. Is proactive in building positive relationships among team members and other functions with which the team interacts.
Ability to express thoughts and findings clearly and succinctly (both written and orally).
