Essential FunctionThe Proposal Specialist’s role is to create budgets and other components for proposals and basic proposal document construction and process management.

Key AccountabilitiesProvide overall management for the proposal process, including coordination of all key operational areas, preparation of text and budgets, and review for basic proposals.

Ensure smooth transition of awarded proposals to the Contracts Team, which may include first-run revisions / negotiations to text and budgets for newly awarded projects.

Under the direction of Pre-Sales management, will provide overall management for the proposal process on larger more complicated more opportunities.

Proposal DevelopmentWork closely with Proposal Managers, Directors of Clinical Strategy and Business Development to perform appropriate client / indication / therapeutic area research to support proposal developmentContact clients as needed to discuss timelines, questions, expectations, deliverables, etc.

Lead / Participate in strategy meetings to : Identify issues and client requirementsIdentify key strategy team membersRecommend internal resourcing, based on experienceEstablish agreement on timelines and deliverables from the strategy meeting, and follow-

up to ensure adherenceUnder the supervision of assigned Proposal lead, create client specific proposal text to : Accurately reflect strategy discussionsMeet PAREXEL and client needs / expectationsAssure accuracy and appropriateness of text and attachmentsDraft budgets to : Reflect both PAREXEL and client needs, including first-

run strategic output with assistance of Proposal Manager, as neededAssure accuracy, consistency and competitiveness of budgetsFacilitate pricing discussions with appropriately identified key decision makersEnsure appropriate and accurate mapping to client budget specificationsProvide quality deliverable to strict deadlinesMay participate in proposal defense meetings with clientsOther TasksProcess and maintain information relating to proposals documents in relevant databasesParticipate in the development and testing of tools and proceduresQualificationsSkillsAbility tolead internal strategy meetingsparticipate in client meetings to explain cost drivers, etc.
