The Global Transition / NPI (New Product Introduction) Leader will be responsible for Global coordination of multi-site and critical new project launches, developing a project plan that meets both Celestica and customer needs, driving execution of the project by leveraging the site resources, preparing regular status reports for management review, and driving escalation where the project plan is not met.
The incumbent will need to ensure that the project is launched in a way that is meeting delivery, quality and financial expectations.
Key Responsibilities :
Accountable for program schedule, financials, quality-per supply contract
Develop project plan and manage execution, agreeing deliverables and timelines with the customer and appropriate internal stakeholders, including support functions and local site leaders.
Coordinate the different sites involved in the project, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, etc to engage and assign the appropriate and suitably qualified resources to the project.
Coordinate multiple teams to achieve project deliverables and on time.
Provide coaching and leadership to teams to ensure successful delivery of project plan, leveraging experience in project management and customer relationship management.
Develop and monitor adherence to KPIs and report project performance to Celestica Leadership on a regular basis as required.
Support customer escalations as required.
Escalate and troubleshoot issues with appropriate stakeholders / SMEs and drive resolution of same.
Accurately report current status and project challenges to appropriate senior and executive management
Identify resource shortfalls works within CLS network to fill gaps, escalate if needed
Proactively Works with site CFTs (Customer Focus Teams) and site leadership to mitigate risks and drive corrective actions
Assures cross-site CFT alignment to project plan
Prioritizes & measures program activities of Central Operations, GBS, Quality and Engineering
Shared point of contact with GCBS General Manager for customer update, escalations and priorities
Prepares and Facilitates phase gate reviews with Executive Leadership
Project financials - monitors progress against ramp P&L and coordinates / drives corrections when deviation occur
Project phase Gates Owner : Schedules, prepares, facilitates all phase gates; Drives Follow up actions included
Core Knowledge / Skills / Competencies :
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Project software or equivalent.
Excellent presentation skills.
Excellent customer contact, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
Ability to manage multiple, detailed projects to a successful end, while working to tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve project goals within tight time deadlines.
Experience / Education :
Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering, operations or in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten plus years’ relevant experience, normally including 2 years minimum in a program management or CFT leader role
MBA or equivalent Preferred
PMP Certification a plus
Travel both domestic and international expected to be 50 - 75%
