The Mission

We live in a data-centric world so the databases and the Administrator that masters them are the keystone for a successful enterprise.

The Oracle Database Administrator, part of the Infrastructure Services department, is responsible of managing and assuring availability of databases and application servers.

Your day to day

Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing, pre-production and production usage

Ensures availability of databases and applications , according to Service Level Agreement

Ensures support 24x7, in case of incidents , during the stand-by suppor period.

Understands the implications of Business Continuity Plan, implementation of Disaster Recovery solution and acts accordingly.

Identifies , implements and tests the back-up and disaster recovery

Performs periodic security monitoring , in order to identify possible intrusions.

Implements database and application changes , according to Change Management plan

Understands all implications of administrating a higly-critical and on-line applications

Performs monitoring of database servers and generates performance indicators.

Planining and management of upgrade and patches installations

Troubleshooting and support for level 3 incidents

Configures applications and components, respecting ING security standards

Collaborates with other team members (Application Administrators, System Administrators, Network Administrators)

Collaborates with other IT departments like : monitoring&tooling, application development, infrastructure

Technical Environment

Databases : Oracle 11g and will start using Oracle 12c

OS : Red Hat Enterprise Linux , AIX

Monitoring : Oracle Cloud Control 12c

Application Servers : JBOSS, Websphere

What you bring to the team

Advanced knowledge of ORACLE databases;

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role;

Master the components of ORACLE server : Oracle instances, Oracle databases;

Experience with Oracle Real Application Cluster, SQL tuning, PL / SQL;

Experience with different versions of Linux (preferably RHEL);

Exposure to complex environments / projects;

Very good communication abilities, team spirit.

Nice to have

DWH experience
