Expeditors is seeking a qualified attorney in Spain, Romania or Poland with more than three (3) years of experience practicing in a law firm or corporate legal department to support the company’s Real Estate and Global Sourcing practice group.
The attorney will provide real estate and procurement-related legal services to Expeditors’ internal clients across multiple geographies and report to a Corporate Counsel II.
Expeditors will consider locating the position at a preferred Expeditors office in Spain, Romania or Poland.
As a Corporate Contracts Manager, you will support the practice group and the global Legal Department in representing the company’s best interests in real estate and procurement-related transactions, interactions with landlords, vendors, and service providers, contract negotiations, and other opportunities.
Day-to-day, you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating complex commercial lease agreements, construction agreements, equipment leases, equipment purchase agreements, consulting agreements, and information technology-related license documents.
You will also be responsible for resolving post-transaction leasing and procurement-related issues.
A successful candidate will have :
A law degree and membership in good standing in a United Kingdom and / or another jurisdiction’s bar association.
Full English fluency. All communications, both written and verbal, are conducted in English. Professional level competency (both written and spoken) in another language is preferred but not required.
Previous experience in the freight forwarding and logistics industry (preferred but not required).
Strong experience in real estate and commercial law.
Contract drafting and negotiation experience.
The ability to identify, analyze, assess, and communicate legal risks to enable internal clients to make quality, risk-adjusted business decisions.
Impeccable integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness and an appropriate initiative and work ethic.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
