The Systems Development Group (SDG) group is seeking a System Applications Engineer to join our customer facing product reference designs team.
Who will be responsible for supporting a broad range of industry leading high-performance solutions and standard products for end applications such as industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare and communication systems.
The System Applications Engineer is responsible for developing full stack reference designs which demonstrate the use of ADI products in system level applications such as communications, radar and machine vision.
As part of a cross functional team, the System Applications Engineer performs definition, development, implementation and documentation of the reference designs.
This includes working directly with the software and HDL teams to define and implement the functionalities needed by the system level applications;
as well as providing technical support for our global customers.
Responsibilities include :
Architect, create and maintain MATLAB / Simulink system level models
Implement application specific algorithms for communications, radar and machine vision
Work in close collaboration with the hardware and software teams for developing new platforms and enhancing the capabilities of the current platforms
Developing system level reference designs and writing and publishing collateral such as Application Notes, Tech Briefs, Technical Articles, Training Material etc.
Provide customer support through the ADI Engineer Zone forum
Technical customer visits, to help them resolve designs issues
Manage and coordinate multiple projects that run simultaneously
Create technical presentations for industrial and academic venues
Essential Skills and Competencies :
MS / PhD in Electrical Engineering (EE) with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, and support of communications, radar or machine vision applications
Have strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures including Xilinx and Intel FPGAs and SoCs
Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of software development languages, including but not limited to C, C+ + , Python and shell scripting
Demonstrated proficiency with hardware description languages such as Verilog and VHDL
Demonstrated proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink
Very good understanding of automatic code generation tools such as the MathWorks Embedded Coder and HDL Coder
Have the ability to work independently and in a team to develop innovative solutions
Must have excellent knowledge and understanding of mixed signal systems implementations
Good understanding of analog and digital circuit design and debugging experience
Ability to comprehend large and complex technical documentation bases quickly
Good understanding of electronics and embedded systems
