For our Core Diagnostics Division we are looking for an Application Specialist to cover our main business locations in Eastern Europe and Middle East.
The position might be based in Greece, Romania or Poland and will be expected to travel across assigned territory on a daily basis.
Primary objective and impact of the position :
Ensure efficient area support for IA / CC systems during product launch and during instrument life cycle. Support activities include instrument training, escalation support and on-site customer support, (EMEA region).
Impacts Abbott's reputation and image regarding quality of support.
Ensure continuous knowledge transfer.
Direction and management of Area Application escalation & support team.
Governance / develop standards for Area escalation & support.
Third level Application escalation support for Abbott products.
Implementation support of new processes and procedures for new product launches
Key responsibilities :
1) Alinity Architect products
Provide on-site installation support, customer training, validation and verification, assay troubleshooting.
Ensure close cooperation and communication with local teams and global expert team.
Provide escalation support including short term on-site visits.
Provide feedback and input to implement bug fixes and improvements.
2) Coordination of area team work
Help in selecting candidates to build a support and trainer network.
Lead, application related, product communication within EMEA through conference calls, WebEx sessions, workshops and meetings.
3) Coordination of EMEA Application Training
Plan and organize Application trainings in Delkenheim / EMEA countries.
Ensure functionality and availability of assigned training rooms and equipment.
Align training activities with global standards.
Lead / conduct guest trainer certification process.
4) Escalation Support
Provide third level support for EMEA.
Ensure timely and efficient escalation of critical issues to Global Service.
Closely collaborate with GSS and country experts.
Provide input to drive product improvements
5) Cross-country traveling (up to 80%)
To maintain and further develop both formal and personal contacts in the countries.
To support the above mentioned training / support activities and manage the EMEA training and expert network.
Medical technologist / chemistry / biology or medical related degree.
Good knowledge of Abbott products, ARCHITECT and Alinity product family, (at least 2 years of experience)
Experience in conducting application related - product trainings for internal staff and / or end-customers will be considered accordingly.
Laboratory work experience.
Familiar with laboratory workflow and operation.
Strong team player with the ability take on a team leadership role.
Strong communication and presentation skills in English, multi-cultural awareness.
Result-oriented working style, ability to set priorities and to maintain focus when under pressure.
