About the team
Worldpay’s eComm Engineering branch specialises in delivering online payment services to our customers and are looking for Engineers to join our team and take our systems to the next level.
Operating within a collaborative SAFe environment, we strive to deliver effective solutions for our customers using our evolving payment platform.
We are looking for proactive team players who would like to work in the Fintech sector, with likeminded individuals that want to develop robust and scalable applications for the growing market.
What you will be doing
Provide engineering leadership to two of the agile software development teams working in the Worldpay’s Bucharest office and following the SAFe practices.
Support and nurture a high level of collaboration between the engineering teams and major stakeholders across Bucharest, London and other sites.
Agree and manage roadmap of the software development work in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
Provide hands-on support and problem solving as needed; for example to create proof-of-concept solutions for challenging design problems or to demonstrate the viability of proposed technologies.
Provide management information to business and technical stakeholders regarding development activities, status and key performance indicators.
Provide leadership and guidance on technical designs, reaching out to principal engineers and system architects where further design work is needed.
Work with other areas of the business as required in order to successfully deliver projects and drive technical change;
ensuring that key stakeholders are informed and understand the impact of design decisions and the cost of business requirements.
Provide support to enable more development teams to be recruited into Bucharest if required, building out the capacity of development.
What you bring
Degree level education (in related subject of computing, maths, science, engineering) or equivalent.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to translate between business and technical terminology with clarity are key to success in this role.
Experience in developing systems on Microsoft stack
Agile methods and tools practical, commercial experience of Scrum and / or Kanban.
A good track record of delivery in a similar environment
Proven track record of leading high performing teams
SMART objective setting
Coaching skills, e.g. GROW model
Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrixed organizations
Fluent English (written / verbal)
