Solution Engineer Oracle Utilities Applications
This position is available in our highly skilled Solution Engineering Hub in Bucharest, as part of a team dedicated to Oracle Utilities Global Business Unit.
Utilities Global Business Unit in Oracle is focused on selling utility-specific solutions, the most important of which are :
Oracle Utilities Customer to Meter
Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management
Oracle Utilities Network Management System
These are a set of industry leading solutions deployed globally by many of the major utilities companies.
As a Solution Engineer in this team you will work very closely together with your presales field colleagues, with a main focus on :
Respond to tenders
Configure business scenarios in Oracle Utilities applications to be demonstrated to the client
Create standard or customer specific demos
Prepare product presentations
Answer questions from customers and partners in preparing and delivering product demonstrations
Interact with product development and product management about new releases, new functionalities
Support other presales activities as they ariseAs a presales consultant you have the chance to develop in a very broad spectrum, ranging from product expertise, customer interaction, communication, and general IT market knowledge.
Successful presales solution engineers are highly demanded individuals with the possibility to develop a career in many different IT (and non-IT) functions. PROFILE :
To fulfill the role of Solution Engineer we are looking for individuals who match the following profile :
Affinity with or experience in the utilities industry (Electric, Gas, Water)
Very good understanding of utility business processes such as billing, metering and workforce management
Experience (worked with) Utility specific software products; preferably Oracle, but others are acceptable as well.
Worked in a business or IT role preferably with exposure to utilities applications. Knowledge of one Oracle Utilities application and understanding of the data model is a plus
Good understanding of Oracle or similar products
Knowledge of the Oracle Utilities Application Framework is a plus
Cloud knowledge will be an advantage
Most important is an eagerness to learn! Oracle has an incredibly broad (and growing) portfolio of industry leading products.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology / application to client business. Facilitation of customer product / application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks;
provision of support throughout the sell.
As a Staff Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate Oracle product*s strengths, features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures.
3 - 5 years business experience preferred; vendor experience also preferred. 3 years relevant computer applications or database / tools preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Knowledge of system and application design preferred. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel as needed. BA / BS degree or equivalent preferred.
