  • Emergency Vehicle Technician EVT’s perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, diagnoses, and performance testing in accordance with NFPA standards and shall be capable of performing heavy vehicle maintenance on commercial and military design firefighting or other emergency vehicles and equipment;
  • Organizes and coordinates the activities involved to maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including trucks, automobiles, diesel engines, etc.

  • Ensures that equipment is maintained according to requirements; Utilizes Computerized Equipment Management System to monitor and control equipment maintenance;
  • Advisesemployees of proper operation and maintenance of equipment; Monitors equipment operation at job site and ensures that proper maintenance and safety procedures are followed;
  • Trains PSL equipment operators in preventive maintenance procedures; Orders and maintains an adequate inventory of parts and supplies to ensure timely maintenance;
  • and, Promotes safety, QIP awareness, and teamwork. Position requires specialized training in diesel mechanics and equipment repair or equivalent experience, thorough knowledge of field services equipment operation and maintenance, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in field maintenance.

    EVT certification through NFPA or prior military experience and training as a fire truck mechanic is a MUST. Additional requirements : - Must be fluent in English - Must possess passport book with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa / stamp pages remaining - Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity - NAC-I required It should be understood that employment may be located in potentially dangerous areas, including combat or war zones.

    This might involve the possibility of suffering harm by dangerous forces or friendly fire. These dangers are inherent to working conditions in a dangerous environment.
