What you will be doing as a Health & Safety Manager
The core focus of this role is to assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of construction safety activities related projects, procedures, plans and training.
This will be done through the following activities :
Have active involvement with the Major Capital Projects Planning Policy, stage gate process for the operating company.
Assist with development and implementation of construction safety process and promote the Bunge safety campaigns.
Participate in the Global Construction Safety Standard training roll out for the operating company.
Work closely with and be mentored by Global Safety Manager for construction.
Participate in online meetings for construction safety communication and development.
Perform construction site visits to further develop the safety process, monitor and report performance.
Support as needed, incident investigations and communicate findings for learnings.
Gain an understanding of contractor safety performance to identify improvement areas and input into longer term construction safety plans.
Develop an understanding of construction safety legal framework within the operating company.
The position is part of a regional team. It will report to our Safety Manager Europe, located in Spain.
What else do we expect from this role ?
University degree, preferably in Constructions or Civil Engineering
At least 10 year of experience in a similar role in construction projects, with a minimum of 3 years in team management
English proficient; any other European language is a plus
Excellent communication skills
MS Office- intermediate level (especially Excel knowledge)
Project management knowledge and experience
Certification in construction safety is a plus
Travel time across the assigned region- about 80% of the total working time (currently stopped due to the pandemics)
Self-motivated, inquisitive with an understanding of risk management.
Ability to manage the implementation of the Global Construction Standard and subsequent developments for contractors and construction.
