Job Purpose :

The KSA / Gulf Media manager is responsible for managing the development and execution of Media strategies and plans in compliance with Mars’ global Media Key Beliefs (MKBs).

This is a critical position as it’s accountable for investing significant Media budget to support Mars’ brands in communicating our brands’ messages and reach our target audience

Key Responsibilities : Media Planning

Media Planning

  • Leads the annual Integrated Communication Planning (ICP) process including : Media Reviews, Strategies and Plans
  • Ensures compliance with the key principles of reach-based planning & Mars’ MKBs
  • Ensures Media plans are closely linked to business needs while being agile to changing business dynamic
  • Media Efficiency / Optimization

  • Lead Media investment choices’ allocation in collaboration with the Media agency
  • Work directly with the CBU Head on the investment trade offs among brands and CBU’s
  • Continually optimize Media plans with Media agencies while benchmarking using latest tools & studies
  • Closely work with Commercial to deliver most effective Media plans at the most efficient rates
  • Ensures post buy reports are issued by the Media agency for key Media activities to learn for the future
  • Top 5 Media Amplification

  • Responsible for the development of the top 5 media amplification plans for Saudi Gulf
  • Leads the media creative sessions and the budgeting for the activities
  • Searches for best practices for activity amplifications globally
  • Actively engage with the global x-segment Media community (i.e. calls, meetings, S&R etc)
  • Budget management

  • Manages the media budget annually including periodic reconciliations, PO issuance
  • Provides the ROI tool outcome in terms of incremental NS to demand planners
  • Test & Learn

  • Contributes to the global T&L agenda
  • Lead Media testing plan and deploy learnings locally and share them globally
  • Media Innovation

  • Explores new emerging Media channels and incorporates learnings into new Media thinking
  • Re-apply new successful innovations from global Mars’ Media
  • Connects with key Media suppliers to ensure Mars is at the leading edge in new Media development
  • Team Player

  • Be the resource for Marketing teams on Media
  • Coach Marketing associates to increase their Media skills & keep them updated on new developments
  • Actively participate / lead organizational projects within the company to deliver the business objectives
  • Contex and Scope :

    KSA / Gulf Media manager job is a very diverse and rich role where the person needs to :

  • Fully understand our brands in terms of equity, objectives, challenges, innovation, competition etc
  • Closely work with Media agency to ensure developing strong Media plans that communicates our brand stories, launches and activities
  • Network with the Media suppliers and industry bodies to be up-to-date on the latest developments in Media and utilize new and proven approaches to stay ahead of competition in reaching our target audience
  • Job Specifications / Qualifications :

    Education & Professional Qualification :

  • University degree
  • Min. 6-8 years of experience in media and marketing (client or agency side)
  • Knowledge / Experience :

  • KSA / Gulf market understanding and knowledge of the local media landscape (Preferred)
  • Experience with Digital / Social Media campaigns (Preferred)
