Preferred Qualifications

Oracle Communication GBU is a leading provider of 3G routing products to Operators across the world and is looking for a Technical Product Manager for 3G/3G+ products.

Responsibilities include specification of technical requirements, managing product dimensioning configuration guidelines, and collaboration with the Product Line Management team to define the product strategy. This person would also be responsible for technical interactions with our customers to understand their networks and issues and provide compelling solutions. The role requires working closely with both sales consultants and engineering leads to ensure the product meets the end users requirements.

Key Knowledge Areas include:
• Previous experience in product management or product development or product support roles is required
• Definition of software product requirements for engineering organizations
• Software engineering methodologies
• Software performance and dimensioning principles for generation of customer configurations
• Familiar with 2G, 3G, 4G, Network Architectures and protocols
• Familiar with SS7 and SMS Networks and protocols
• Familiar with STP products, SS7, Sigtran, MTP, and SCCP protocols.
• Familiar with GTT, MNP, and EIR database applications
• Familiar with Diameter and SS7 Security and Analytics products and architectures.
• Optionally, familiar with NFV, container based, and cloud native environments.
• Optionally, familiar with FS-11, FS-19, FS-21, IR-77, IR81, IR-82 SIP, Diameter and SS7 Security Documents
• Optionally, familiar with Analytics and Network Security based SaaS Services

Responsibilities include :
• Working with sales teams worldwide and engineering to define technical analytics and network security requirements to address security controls for Oracle’s signaling 3G product portfolios for use by downstream development and QA teams.
• Working with Product Security, Development Security Point of Contact, on threat modeling activities.
• Working with customers who have done security audits on Oracle products and to provide responses to those audits working with the product security, product line management and development teams.
• Collaborating with other teams to define technical requirements that span across products and organizations
• Owning and generating market-level technical requirements and supporting documentation
• Providing guidance in architectural decisions
• Supporting technical sales and marketing
• Supporting the associated Business Plans, Internal Plans of Record (POR), External Product Plans, External Roadmaps, Feature Commitment Tracking, RFF (Request for Feature) Process
• Supporting day-to-day processes of feature reconciliation, field trial determination, business case generation, RFx response input, and quote approval
• Understanding the competitive landscape and market opportunities for Oracle in this area and other Product Management duties as required.

In the performance of these duties applicant will interface with Customers, Sales, Marketing, Product Line Managers, Product Security, R&D, Customer Service, Business Development, Manufacturing and Cross-BU Teams.

Position requires demonstrated leadership in and direct supervision of technical aspects of product planning activities. May require travel to work closely with customers and sales teams for technical/business assessment and analysis of new and existing business opportunities as well as support future product roadmaps based on technical/market requirements. Other duties as assigned.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
