Job Description

As part of the Microchip MPU Application team, you will be in charge of Linux software development and its publication in Open Source communities for the entire MPU product line.

We are looking for savvy engineers, motivated to participate to Open Source projects, that will join our Linux team.

From Linux kernel developments, device drivers, bootloaders enhancement, graphical libraries optimization or application layers you will be able to embrace any aspect of an embedded Linux system.

In defining the next MPU product families, you will closely interact with other functional teams that are part of the division.

The work place is an international and multi-site environment, where you can develop your skillset and work cross-culturally.

Mandatory Skills

  • Master in Electrical Engineering and / or Computing Science degree required
  • A first experience in Embedded Linux or Linux Applications development
  • Capable of working autonomously on assigned jobs, and proactively on background objectives
  • English-fluent
  • Good communication skills
  • Learning Opportunities

  • Become familiar with open source communities, potentially recognized as a contributor of an open source project
  • Acquire experience in large scale projects and cross-cultural environments
  • Learn how to build root file systems such as Yocto Project, OpenEmbedded, Buildroot, Debian, OpenWRT
  • ARM Cortex-A cores, the ARM-based systems’ architecture and peripherals
  • Git version control system
  • Debug tools or hardware probes
