The Finance Internship Program at Micro Focus provides participants with business responsibilities from the start. As a Finance Intern, you will receive 12 months of a combination of on-the-job-training, formal learning, and mentoring, while also learning the functional aspects of finance and business strategy.
During the program, you will begin performing in seat job duties within the finance organization.
Your role as an intern :
Gain knowledge and experience, through on-the-job training, of all aspects of operations, marketing techniques, and cooperative philosophy needed to manage a successful cooperative structure.
You will be assisting the following activities :
Month end closing reporting related activities, including ad-hoc queries
Daily review of actuals during close
Reports, templates and management information produced for Decision Support
Special projects and ad hoc reporting and analysis
Planning, Budget & Forecast
Assist forecast process, including gathering and reconciling data
Sensitivity checks and scenario planning analysis
Consolidate forecast, budgets and different analysis variances
Evaluate and assess effectiveness of key company controls
Assist month end closing related activities to a more specific Decision Support Business Line (e.g. Professional Services, Maintenance, LFR)
Forecast scenarios, review actuals vs forecast and run gap analyses
Develop robust financial forecasts and budgets in support of company objectives. Collect inputs from business partners, identify opportunities for improvement and work to understand key variances.
Develop ad hoc financial analysis to evaluate company initiatives and provide management with date to help drive decision making.
About you / your experience includes :
You are in your last year of studies as part of getting a Bachelor Degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting or you are a student in a Master Program (Economics / Finance / Accounting / Business)
Strong written, verbal, analytical and presentation skills. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of staff throughout the company.
Position requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Work travel may be required depending upon the position.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to understand and interpret Profit and Loss statements
