caliber location for Group Technology and Engineering (GTE). GTE is structured around the design, build and maintenance of innovative systems, products and services.

GTE works in partnership with customer-facing teams to innovate and build reliable and secure products and services across many industries.

The QA Engineer Automation will report to a QA Lead and work closely with each discipline within the Delivery Team (Product Owner, Design, Development and Test) to provide the automation capabilities for the project -

complete test analysis, test design, manual and automated test execution.You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the automation framework, automation testing effort estimation, automated tests creation, automated tests execution and reporting.

  • Defines and creates test cases from analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability and portability).
  • Produces test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services. Interprets, executes and documents test scripts using agreed methods and standards.
  • Provides reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues.
  • Conducts reviews of supplied specifications, with others as necessary, estimate testing effort and documents all work in accordance with agreed standards.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Participate in sprint planning and provide details on the testing tasks and effort required to validate the committed user stories.
  • Review & analyze user stories & design documents to ensure they are unambiguous, complete & testable artefacts.
  • Identify, create & execute tests to verify the user stories.
  • Convert existing manual test cases into automated tests.
  • Capturing of test evidence and test reporting through JIRA / ALM.
  • Document and manage defects to resolution.
  • Maintain the automated regression test pack by ensuring the data inputs and expected results continue to align to the latest code / configuration.
  • Support and maintain test automation framework with respect to implementation of new features, existing features or bug fixes.
  • Participate and provide updates on tasks at the Daily Stand Up
  • Attend Sprint Planning, Design Review, Showcase & Retrospectives
  • Working collaboratively with delivery team to ensure the Acceptance Criteria has been met
  • Support the implementation of process improvements identified in the retrospective

  • Solid, hands-on testing background, with in depth knowledge of software automation techniques
  • Proven experience in developing automation frameworks in a Java environment.
  • Ability to code and develop in Java (core Java, JDBC).
  • Knowledge of Maven / Ant / JUnit / Mockito / TestNG, and the concept of continuous integration (Jenkins).
  • Knowledge of version control system (preferably GIT).
  • Knowledge of XML
  • Working experience with different RDMS or DW (any of Oracle, MS SQL Server, others) and SQL, PL / SQL language nice to have
  • Experience with different bug tracking systems like JIRA, HP ALM, others
  • Sound understanding and experience of the Agile software development lifecycle
  • Strong analytical skills, able to provide support to solve business or production problems
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical and non-technical issues
  • Highly collaborative, supportive and team player that demonstrates a proactive can do’ attitude
  • Responsive, assertive and drive a continuous improvement ethos in all interactions
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
