Manage the internal and external display development tasks in terms of technical realization, deadlines, costs and quality.
Documentation of project status and of technical documents (development schedule, meeting minutes, component verification results, component specification, drawing, document release).
Responsibility for the display development result in cooperation with the nominated series component supplier.
Define and agree upon technical interface issues in cooperation with hardware, software and mechanical design.
Support product integration and its planning.
Ensure the early integration of display suppliers into the development process, taking into account the display strategy and align with AP, category management and SQM.
Identify improvement measures and potential to increase quality and profitability (in particular target costing, design-
to-cost, redesign-to-cost) and realize this potential in the course of the product development.
Support the "make or buy decision regarding display supplier components.
Perform display related analyses and benchmarking of competitor' products.
Internal knowledge sharing on new customer requirements, new technologies, and supplier information.
Technical skills :
Good understanding of mainstream automotive display technologies e.g. liquid crystal display cell technologies as in plane switching, twisted nematic, vertical alignment.
Understanding of emerging automotive display technologies e.g. organic light emitting diode, quantum technologies, micro LED displays..., is a plus.
Good understanding of capacitive touch functionality and capacitive sensors. Understanding of embedded touch technologies as In-
Cell, On-Cell and sensor designs as one glass solution, glass-glass solution, touch foils is a plus.
Understanding of display system integration e.g. optical bonding, lamination, cover lens is a plus.
Good understanding of displays electrical architectures and schematics. More specific knowledge about video interfaces and video processing's is a plus.
Basic understanding of display mechanics, display stack-ups optics and light sources e.g. LED's.
Project management and soft skills :
Sub Project management skills from display component development perspective e.g. manage component development schedule and milestones, development effort estimations, drive local support disciplines e.
g. component mechanical designer, optics and involved experts.
Communication and negotiation skills e.g. customer on site support, suppliers management.
Presentation skills e.g. support customer presentations and product technical description partly.
