Working closely with the Head of Quality, WPMs or Heads of Departments , the QAM main missions are :
To develop operational quality through transverse activities (quality issues detection, analysis, prevention, deployment of methodologies, support, coaching, lessons learned ) and to supervise the quality delivered by the WPs / projects / bids in his / her responsibility.
Contribute to maintaining direct links with Quality managers and making sure that problems are resolved swiftly.
The QAM is instrumental to facilitating the interfaces within the project and within the bid, to reconcile all requirements sources.
Context (challenges, specific issues ) :
With the objective to support a consistent QA implementation in projects and ensure a coherent QA approach in bids the QAM role have been established, having the main mission :
To tailor relevant processes and lifecycle for the project specifics, build a consolidated view of the project risks, to moderate / conduct problem solving and foster a continuous improvement approach during project execution.
To ensure that all the conditions to win the bids, in the given timeframe, are met and give confidence on the maturity of the delivered proposals for the whole established scope.
To promote a culture of quality and customer mindset with the empowerment of operational teams to take responsibility for building Quality.
To foster discipline to the applicable processes and provide accurate reporting
To identify, analyse and share weak signals and prevent uncontrolled variations
Missions and responsibilities :
With the bid team
Ensure that the bid proposal delivered including the proposed solution to the Customer comply with both Customer and Thales requirements and with the applicable standards and regulations, with the required level of Quality, for his / her whole perimeter
Set up a consolidated Bid quality advice
Tailor the referential(s) that will be used; if a JV is set up, identify the referential(s) that will be used.
Verify plans prior to release process (e.g. Risk, Requirements, Project Management Plan)
Ensure and guarantee to the customer , authorities and management that the project deliveries complies with the commitments, that the delivered solution(product, Process, service) meets customer technical & non technical requirements and complies with applicable standards and regulations for his / her whole perimeter
Establish the Quality Plan in coordination with the different QAMs and WPMs.
Organize / Contribute to the Quality Assurance meetings, for the whole scope to communicate on the different rules, objectives and responsibilities of the Quality team.
Set up project quality advices for the selected projects / bids / workpackages (WPs)
Manage Alertand Vetos with others QAMs on deviation and ensure that the recovery or improvement plans are on time and efficient
Contribute to definition and refinement of relevant KPIs inline with the project or bid goals, as applicable
Independently analyse metrics to draw own conclusions and propose analysis methods with the team.
Mentor and contribute to definition of action items in response to audit and TIMS assessment recommendations
Mentor and moderate root cause analysis and problem solving sessions.
Monitor and control the allocation of Quality requirements, define ways of working,
Identify and use the relevant toolset (TIMs country versions, JIRA, SonarQube )
Support the team when difficulties occur (delays, costs, suppliers, ) by appropriate analysis and solution proposal
Be proactive in understanding Customers’ expectations and making sure that the project is meeting them.
With the project team
To perform the internal and self-assessments in his / her perimeter according to the plan of the Q&CS department.
Contribute to the set-up of the WBS and OBS and in general to project planning.
Consolidate the risk analysis for the project (drive, moderate the sessions)
Define tailoring of lifecycle / check plans (risk plan, safety plan, management plan )
Monitor the advancement & the traceability matrix of non-technical and technical requirements,
Support team to prepare Acceptances and attend to the actual meetings.
Share the consolidated view of the project risks and opportunities, propose improvement actions to take regarding the most critical ones.
Monitor the plans in the execution (e.g. Requirements Mgmt Plan, Configuration Mgmt Plan, )
Support teams in defining ways of working, especially on deliveries (IVVQ plan)
With contributing entities in Thales
Monitor TIMS assessments and define / propose improvement action plans
Follow-up action plans to their closure
Actively participate to Quality meetings, to build a consolidated view of the project risks and share current success and difficulties, discuss, recommend and select improvement actions.
Skills and competences requirements :
Degree in Computer Science / Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
Operational background in Project Management or Engineering : knowledge of requirements management or software testing, understanding of architectural and design principles and techniques.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing environment
Disciplined Problem Solving skills
Ability to interact with all levels of management.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with proven capability to drive key quality initiatives in the ecosystem (engage and develop teams, influence stakeholders, perform through cooperation, )
