For our client, one of the market leaders telecom operator and one of the most experienced network developers with a history over 50 years in the field, we are looking for Telecom Engineers passionate about CORE networks and services.
This role’s purpose is to providing superior technical support for some of the latest technology services like roaming hub, machine to machine, unified communications for global enterprise customers.
Provide a blended capability covering end to end service monitoring and first call fix
Over-riding accountability to drive for resolution of customer issues by the most appropriate support teams and where necessary, 3rd line field services
Ensure that performance services targets are met
Identify and resolve configuration errors
Triage and dispatch
Routing and latency tests
Skilled trouble shooting investigations
Organize conference calls to coordinate and guide to resolution any major or critical incident
End to End Service Monitoring for the services under team responsibility
Monitor ticket handling across all other support lines, following specific SLA
Prepare major incident reports for use by problem and incident management
Support monitoring and configuration evolution with the OSS team
Identify incident trends and refer to problem management for action
Test applicable services after changes
Configure applicable network elements
Escalate appropriately when risk of breach identified.
Technical University degree (preferred - Telecommunications)
Telecom & network certifications
1-2 years’ experience in network operating and maintenance within a telecom operator
Proven knowledge on a wide range of Core Platforms
Knowledge of all major networking protocols and technologies on different network layers, both in experience and on a theoretical basis
Fluently (reading, writing and speaking) in English, preferable also German, Spanish or Italian (speaking)
The role operates within a 3 shift 24x7
Good understanding in some of the following areas :
oTechnologies : GSM, GPRS, EDGE, 3G / UMTS, LTE, IMS, VOIP, Cisco Unified Communication manager
oProtocols : IP,TCP,UDP ,SCTP, SS7, SIGTRAN,MAP,CAMEL, SIP, RTP, GTP, SMPP, HTTP
