Purpose Statement : The Supervisor I Quality Engineer role is responsible as the key liason between manufacturing and the customer, ensuring that overall customer quality and regulatory requirements and expectations are met and product meets all specifications.

Key Job Accountabilities : Offer support during new product introduction by ensuring completion of tasks assigned to QE function.

Monitor quality specific metrics at department level : CRG rate, CAPA, Training delinquency, Customer complaints. Escalation point in case of unsolved open issues within CFT and production meetings.

Administrative management of the QE team with regards to T&A / holidays. Participate in specific quality user groups. Understanding of primary customer interface for all customer quality specifications and requirements.

Facilitate resolution of proactive quality initiatives; continuous improvements, preventative actions, mistake-proofing, etc.

Facilitate resolution of reactive quality initiatives; containment / root cause / corrective actions, customer issues, etc.

Facilitate and participate in quality metrics reporting and communication. Coach and mentor individuals and cross-functional teams in quality systems, tools and philosophies.

Accountable to execute on Plexus’ Best People strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Additional Accountabilities : Define and manage all customer quality plans. Facilitate all quality-related activities associated with customer product introductions within PPQP, etc.

Approval of all product changes (ECOs, deviations, validations, etc.) to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met, and verification that changes are correctly implemented.

Monitor processes (through auditing, metrics, etc.) to ensure product health. Support external audit activities relative to product requirements.

Support product and process changes and evolution, ensuring product quality integrity is maintained. Support quote and contract review process, ensuring customer quality requirements are met.

Support Supplier Quality in supplier issues and improvements (RI, NCM, MRB, etc.). Additional duties as assigned by management.

Education / Experience Qualifications : A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. Five (5) years of related experience is required.

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Other Qualifications : Proficient working knowledge of quality systems and tools for applicable industry requirements (e.

g. AS, medical etc.). Proficient working knowledge of manufacturing process standards (IPC, etc.). Basic Lean and Six Sigma skills.

Proficient presentation skills. Proficient data analysis skills. Self-management capabilities. Ability to lead and multi-task in a dynamic environment.

Work Environment : The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level.
