Microchip is seeking an experienced Analog / mixed-signal applications engineer to join our R&D team. The primary role will be development and support of technical content for current and next generation ADCs, DACs, Digital Potentiometers, and Energy Measurement.
In addition, exposure to other technical areas and products within the group is likely.
Design schematics for ADC evaluation boards.
Develop firmware and GUI for new and existing parts like SAR delta-sigma ADC’s.
Develop and support new examples of real-world use cases for the Microchip products, consisting of PC modules (GUI) and firmware modules for microcontroller-driven embedded systems.
Develop tech trainings for both internal (within the company) and external to customers.
Collaborate with other groups and business unit to create Total System Solutions.
To involve and support New Product Development Teams by developing HW and SW for new products.
Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of experience in mixed-signal development / support (e.
g., Applications and / or System Design)
3+ years of experience with embedded systems is preferred
Lab validation / analysis skills to reproduce customer issues (root cause analysis)
Strong problem-solving skills

Can solve ambiguity in a methodical and precise manner

Microcontroller / Processor implementation know how
System Engineering Tools (e.g. MATLAB, Simulink, Altium Designer, etc.) preferred
Hardware development and layout experience strongly preferred (Altium Designer experience a plus)
Linux drivers and python experience it’s a plus.
Experience with power metering and monitoring it’s also a plus.
