Reporting to the Group Credit Risk Manager the job holder is responsible for credit risk analysis on potential and existing customers.
The job holder is tasked with producing detailed analytical reports, producing scorecards and interpretations on balance sheets and P&L reports and working with Sales and Collections teams to maximize customer service whilst minimizing the risk of bad debt and overdue payments.
Strong professional knowledge in all fields of Credit and / or Collections, gained through significant work experience is essential.
Respond to inquiries on potential customers and formulate a credit opinion via a number of different methods, including analysis of financial statements, commercial reasoning and pragmatic methods.
Under the direction of the Group Credit Risk Manager, help to develop, recommend, implement and maintain computerized risk systems appropriate to the needs of the business and to the continued efficiency and improvement of the service provided by the CFSE team.
Provide to the Group Credit Risk Manager and Senior Management all appropriate and requested risk reporting data within agreed time scales.
Consult and discuss with the Group Credit Risk Manager, all risk or procedural issues on which the job holder is unsure.
Maximize cash flow inwards by setting enabling appropriate and sensible credit lines to drive sales
Support the rest of the CFSE risk team by sharing ideas, advice and best practice whilst contributing to the effective running of the risk function.
Liaise with Group Collections Manager, Finance Directors, Group Sales, Process Improvement / Reporting, and Core Data Managers and co-
ordinate individual and group training and development for the risk team.
Ensure credit policies and procedures are strictly adhered to and applied in the management of risk and collections in order to maximize cash flow inwards and minimize overdue accounts and bad debts.
Conduct regular reviews of major over limit accounts with risk team members and external parties to ensure that appropriate follow up action and / or resolution activities are being taken and escalate to a higher authority if deemed necessary to secure risk.
Review existing customer base using a variety of methods and work with the business and risk team to ensure credit limits and payment terms are appropriate and reviewed regularly in line with internal policies.
Liaise with Group Credit Risk Manager and local Finance Directors to ensure that there are adequate provisions for bad debt and sales and returns allowances etc.
Work with the risk team and help improve customer satisfaction by ensuring that all customer and internal queries are dealt with in a timely manner.
Ensure that customer’s orders are held and released in conjunction with the Collections team in accordance with the prevailing Delegation of Authority.
Authorize credit limits for accounts within defined limits of authority.
Sets own priorities within framework of established procedures.
The job holder will be required occasional travel within Europe.
Relevant economic or Financial qualification
Past experience is preferred but full training will be given
Computer literate (must include Excel)
The successful applicant will possess a good level of commercial and financial awareness and a broad understanding of business issues and demonstrate sound commercial judgment.
Ability to communicate at all levels within the business
English essential and other languages highly preferable
