The Compliance Operations Automation team is looking for entrepreneurial, innovative individuals who thrive on solving tough problems.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will be the catalyst for our engineering teams as they work with other technology teams across Amazon to ensure our users in Compliance Operations get the right solutions for their operational challenges.

This role requires senior program and project management experience, as customer engagement, stakeholder management and effective communication is critical.

As a TPM you will ensure projects in the program are being scoped, planned, delivered and closed in line with the agreed success measures, budget, schedule and quality.

Roles and Responsibilites

  • Manage and own complex projects having enterprise wide impact.
  • Establish the forward looking strategy and gain support for implementation.
  • Conduct pre-project requirement gathering, scoping, project approval, planning, oversee delivery and verification of strategic goals.
  • Develop gap analysis, functional specifications, project schedules and milestones.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify resources, assemble project teams, and assign responsibilities.
  • Assess costs, benefits and risks, plus identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively through effective action and appropriate escalation.
  • Balance business needs with technical and security requirements.
  • Clearly communicate goals, responsibilities, issues and status to customers and senior managers.
  • Ensure changes are effectively released ensuring feedback mechanisms are established.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholder and service owners.
  • Publish accurate and concise reports on time to maintain visibility and accountability.

  • 3+ years of technical program manment experience
  • 4+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience defining technical programs, identifying risks, managing cost, coordinating scope, managing senior stakeholders, identifying dependencies, and running agile practices.

  • Expertise with standard methodologies via industry certification (e.g. PMP, Six Sigma, Agile)
  • Experience working with teams across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Familiarity with serverless, open source, web services, multi-tiered systems, complex architectures, workflow modeling and enterprise application integration
  • Possess an understanding of core information security principles and associated risk manment principles
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with track record of communicating with multiple levels of leadership involving both business and technical sides of the organization.
  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills to earn trust and influence partners and teams, and demonstrate success in delivering projects on time.
