About the team

FIS’ Merchant Solutions segment Worldpay from FIS’, is the fastest growing segment within FIS and serves large and fast-growing companies targeting internet-led multinationals with complex payment needs supported by vertical expertise in their eCommerce business.

Their solutions also provide local in-store, online and mobile payment acceptance solutions for merchants, from large corporates to small and medium-sized enterprises and micro merchants with a focus on integrated payments.

We are seeking a Senior Director of Development, and Site Leader to lead the Development teams in Romania. We are passionate about our Engineering skills and building to scale and building it right, is what we strive for.

As leader of this team, you will be leading the engineering activities to build and support current and new product, payment gateways and digital initiatives, as well as helping to shape the future of how we build modern payment solutions that are simple to use, highly resilient, feature rich with a global reach.

As part of a global development management team and as Site Leader in Romania, you will also be tasked with strategic growth of the team locally, and general management of local operations.

What you will be doing

As the Senior Development Director, you will work with business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver solutions by taking ownership and responsibility for the software development teams.

That said, the technology is a means and not an end for you; the people you affect and interact with matter the most. You care about the tools used to get the job done, but they don’t define you.

You love to solve new problems and thrive in an innovative and changing environment.

Key Responsibilities Include :

Senior level engagement with business and technology stakeholders to drive the right business outcomes

Providing Software Engineering Leadership by being a role-model and coaching others

Directing and guiding the teams to build high quality software using modern technologies, standards and practices

Utilizing your experience in modern software development to Influence teams and stakeholders

General Management and Operational Leadership, a growth mindset

Attract, Recruit, Inspire and Retain employees to grow the development operations in Romania

You will represent the company at Romania level in local activities and to local authorities, based on the rights given by FIS

What you bring

Engineering leadership skill set that is focused on high quality engineering and an ability to influence, coach and guide teams, a Manager of Managers.

Experience managing medium size site / center, including building the team and coordination of operational activities (eg : facility, vendor relationship, delivering events, etc).

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with an ability to work with the wider organization to achieve the desired outcomes

An inquisitive personality that is always looking for constant improvement opportunities

Advanced English language skills
