The Project Manager takes responsibility for the delivery of medium to large customer projects using a defined methodology that is based on a waterfall approach.
Those projects comprise 50 -200 man days, have multiple work streams and / or multi-site roll outs. Engagement with and management of, a wide range of internal and external stakeholders up to CXO level is required.
Presentation Development and Delivery : Presents business and / or technical concepts and multi-part solutions aligned to the customers’ / Basware business needs to the team members and customer.
Proposal Development : Ensures input from all members of the proposal team are integrated to create a coherent and effective proposal.
Presents compellingly proposals in formal or informal settings. Accurately scopes professional services resource effort.
Solution Structuring : Leads the process of identifying the customer's business problem by selecting the appropriate method to gather information (e.
g. interviews, group sessions). Builds relationships interacting at most senior customer levels to gain understanding of the strategic challenges facing the customer organization.
Develops end-to-end solutions that address complex customer needs.
Risk / Dependency Management : Leads the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks and issues as well as identifying and communicating key dependencies and assumptions on other party s required to deliver of successful outcomes and protect the interests of Basware
Documentation : Oversees production of an entire business deliverable document for internal or external use. Drives efforts to define, improve, and maintain product and developer documentation strategies, standards, processes, and business practices.
Contract Management : Works with or within Basware’s contracts and legal departments in determining and recommending the right contract for the business opportunity.
Understands and raises to the team members the impact of financial and contract terms on Basware’s profitability, delivery responsibilities and obligations, reporting and / or control requirements
Operational Management : Effectively estimates time / resources for activities that must be undertaken by the team and may lead / delegate tasks or responsibilities to others.
Proactively identifies and checks dependencies to other areas and work efforts structuring the plan accordingly. Measures project progress using metrics and makes mid-
course adjustments to manage the planned activity in order to achieve targeted goals on time, within budget and in scope.
Quality Management : Has an eye for detail and ensures delivery of component, module or solution to agreed standards, quality and design.
Analyses and identifies process defects, and designs and implements improvements sharing the findings appropriately with the stakeholders.
Proactively contributes to and maintains a documented business management system that captures current best practice, measures effectiveness and supports continuous improvement.
Reporting : Establishes key metrics to use as the basis for tracking the progress of a work effort. Ensures compliance with agreed communication networks between work effort and senior customer stakeholders (e.
g. the steering committee) to ensure effective communications and status at appropriate levels throughout the project delivery.
Resource Management : Assesses the capabilities of members of a large group / department to ensure best deployment of skills and competencies.
Identifies the human resources needed to execute on the business plan. Assigns resources based on availability and loaded cost rates, takes into consideration discounts made during the sales process.
Utilises the designated enterprise portfolio management software and achieves high compliance rates
Scope Management : Defines and manages the scope of projects with customers (internal / external). Renegotiates project scope with the internal / external customer as required and implements the change management process.
Customer Relationship Management : Develops an understanding of the client to identify sales opportunities. Ensures / or supports that one face to the customer is projected.
Is able to adapt style and approach to managing complex situations within a demanding customer stakeholder environment.
Change Leadership : Participates in the change management and assimilation process (includes communication and training).
Observes and describes the impact of business change on the work practices of affected user group(s).
Team Management / Leadership : Helps with team implementation of decisions and plans. Places a high priority on cooperation, cohesiveness and morale, offering support for others' ideas and proposals (e.
g. knowing when to accept / lend support to a decision to move forward). Maintains high levels of motivation within project teams.
Business Development : Demonstrates expertise during calls or reviewing proposal documents. Supports events or other marketing opportunities to connect with target businesses.
Identifies potential new business opportunities and escalates them to appropriate staff
Cost Control : Manages the cost elements of a budget. Monitors spending against plan and takes action, as necessary, to stay within budget.
Understands and provides input to the P&L and escalates issues relating to cost overruns as appropriate
Personal Development : Takes responsibility for managing own career. Seeks feedback from others to promote own development
Developing Others : Actively invest time in the professional development of others within the team and provide feedback to others in order to facilitate an improvement in their performance.
