The Romanian branch, opened in the early 2000, is currently the company’s technology excellence center.
The Technical Director is a Pan-European role leading a 30 person team including software developers, project managers and quality assurance testers based primarily in Bucharest, Amsterdam and Paris.
The Technical Director is the technical liaison to the European executive team located in the UK. This position is the most senior member of the technical team in Europe and reports to the Senior Director of Program Management in the US.
Key job responsibilities and success factors of the role will be :
To understand the business and product offerings of the Group.
To work independently, setting direction for subordinates.
Deliver projects on time and on budget.
To collaborate with product management and generate and deliver new exciting product offerings.
To communicate regularly with stakeholders and executive leaders via regular meetings and status reports.
Break down obstacles that hinder project and development progress.
Maintain technical governance plans.
Ensure team adherence to technical governance and best practices for all projects and releases.
Act as liaison with the International executive team for the areas of Platform Software, Platform Hardware and IT
The Technical Director will have a proven track record of :
Delivering complex multi-national software delivery projects and programs to time and budget.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Full project life cycle engineering and the ability to solve complex software engineering problems that can delay the timely delivery of projects.
Collaborating with diverse business groups to generate new product ideas, turning those ideas into reality.
Success operating autonomously within a fast paced environment.
Managing a project portfolio and working with the business to set project priorities.
Delivering large scale software deployments.
Improving the performance of teams and adherence to best practices.
Budget management experience in the £1M range
Building relationships within the business and influencing decisions.
Additional Requirements :
Must be fluent English. French is an advantage.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Degree educated in a scientific subject such as computer science or engineering.
Software Development experience, notably in one of the following areas; Java, PHP, SQL, C#, .NET.
Hardware and networking knowledge.
