Role Profile

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance test analyst with a strong

technical and financial systems background. Working within the UnaVista team, part of a leading UK

investment and financial services company, you will be responsible for the QA of the software delivery

lifecycle for regulatory, post trade, reconciliation and data solutions and the underlying development


To be successful in this job, you should have extensive software testing experience and a proven

software delivery background preferably within all (or the majority) of the following areas :

  • Regulatory reporting e.g. MiFID, EMIR, G20 (and ideally knowledge of regulations from
  • ESMA, FCA and other Regulators and Venues)

  • Post trade services e.g. trade confirmations, clearing
  • Matching and reconciliation Trade Repository / Regulator
  • Strong technical and data analysis experience, particularly a very good working knowledge of SQL, is

    a core prerequisite of the role. Due to the nature of the UnaVista Platform and Solutions, technical

    knowledge and experience will expedite your acclimatisation to this position.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully test to the full project delivery lifecycle according to test approach defined.
  • QA testing the UnaVista Platform and Solutions as per the defined requirements, assisting
  • with the creation of documents in conjunction with other technical staff.

  • Complete the internal QA testing (and client facing user acceptance testing), applying
  • appropriate change control practices to mitigate scope creep and overall project risk.

  • Assist with refinement and improvement of QA processes with the purpose of improving
  • control and efficiencies across the department.

  • Candidate Profile / Key Skills

  • 3+ years working as a QA professional, ideally with experience at either a financial software
  • vendor or financial institution, and Higher education ideally in Computer Sciences.

  • Good industry / financial knowledge; ability to communicate and understand both technical
  • and financial terminology used.

  • Knowledge of middle / back office financial processes.
  • Technical understanding; strong working knowledge of Web and application testing (both
  • Manual and Automated), and Transaction SQL coupled with data analysis skills.

  • Test approach; familiar with Waterfall, Agile, & hybrid methodologies
  • Creation of test cases from Specification or Regulations
  • Good knowledge of data manipulation, enrichment, validation, normalisation and underlying
  • concepts related to data reconciliation and quality management.

  • understanding of test automation scripts in OO or interpreted language, e.g. Java
  • any previous experience of non-functional testing in performance (Jmeter) and security areas
  • formal inspection methods and test techniques either in DevOps or QA environments
  • ISTQB / ISEB Foundation certificate or higher testing certification
  • As a QA test analyst you will liaise on a regular basis with project teams and stakeholders, primarily

    for the purpose of fulfilling the core QA functions. The ability to adapt and scale on demand is critical

    as you may be required for parallel project engagements or to act as a dedicated resource for a

    significant / strategic project. Communication and interaction are essential to potentially across a wide
