Your work environment

The Risk Officer Data Quality & Data Governance position is a part of the NFR (Non-Financial Risk) Department.

Non-Financial Risk Department covers the activities of Corporate Operational Risk Management, Corporate Informational Risk Management, Corporate Security & Investigations, and the Independent Validation Unit / Quality Assurance.

You will be operating in a challenging and constantly changing environment, with regular contacts with Senior Managers of other risk domains and divisions at Corporate and Tier 1 level.

Traveling is required in this position.

The Mission

You will perform independent validation on BCBS 239 requirements as well as Quality Assurance for the Risk Domains. BCBS 239 is aimed at strengthening a bank’s risk data aggregation capabilities and risk reporting practices.

Your Day-to-Day

Following the BCBS239 (Principles of Effective Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting - PERDARR), your responsibilities will be to :

  • Enhance the infrastructure for reporting key information to identify, monitor and manage risks;
  • Improve decision making process and improve the speed at which information is available, hence decision can be made;
  • Enhance management information across legal entities and at consolidated level;
  • Reduce probability and severity of losses;
  • Improve the speed at which information is available, hence decision can be made.

    Required Skills :

  • Experience of 3 years in risk areas that is relevant for the function;
  • Knowledge of Banking business, policies, processes, procedures and systems;
  • Knowledge of understanding on BCBS 239 elements such as Data, data lineage, data quality is a plus;
  • Adequate understanding of regulatory environment in banking;
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work across both functional and geographic lines;
  • Strong ability to earn trust and respect of colleagues and senior management;
  • External or Internal audit background is a plus;
  • Ability to be firm when needed and show flexibility when possible;
  • Good analytical skills and sound judgment;
  • University Degree or equivalent;
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
