The Technical Expert (TE) is a crop and / or product-line expert in the country or area of the country; he collects and interprets the technical needs of users, influencers and channel partners for products and product programs.

The TE translates these needs into questions to be answered by projects / trials.

Key individual in the launch of new products and technical support to those products, leading and ensuring appropriate Technical Transfer to Corteva peers and key stakeholders.

He also supports sales of existing products, providing technical support. They are both customer* addressed (understanding their needs and market trends) and internally oriented, as a key part of product concept creation, from understanding customer needs to ensure our products meet those needs.

  • Understand Customer Needs
  • Liaises with channel partners, end users, officials, and other influencers regarding Corteva products and projects in order to collect & interpret technical needs of users, influencers and channel partners by crops, products and product programs.
  • Creates report on desired and realistic biological positioning in dealer and user programs.
  • Organize and manage trials projects , organize trial visit and train sales team and customers.
  • Defines local biological questions to fit desired product technical positioning and reaches agreement with the team.
  • Project Definition
  • Interacts with the Biology and Technical Teams on the exact objectives and reasons for trials to support Customer Needs.
  • Contributes to case building for new projects : Contributes to the completion of decision charts for new products / concepts.
  • Attends the Biology review meetings, for relevant projects, and represents local needs. Contributes local agronomy know-how to protocol design for projects.

    Reviews the biological regulatory package prior to submission.

  • Technical Transfer
  • Assists in the implementation of customer needs regarding biological questions.
  • Elaborates technical literature, presentations and commercial materials to support product positioning.
  • Design and coordinate effective and conclusive demo-trial programs for new products, as defined within LPCTs. Demo trials are an effective tool to promote sales, launch products, identify commercial, opportunities, and train customers.
  • Spread and share technical results of our products with the main stakeholders (use and encourage use of digital tools).
  • Technology Transfer to Sales Team and CTS, and to Officials and influencers.

  • Gives biology know-how support for existing products, and for 3rd party products (new products).
  • Advocacy and engagement of stakeholders
  • Build trusting and lasting relationships with influencers (central and regional governments, grower unions, advisors, research centers, universities, etc.).
  • Implement advocacy / endorsement strategies defined by LPCTs with authorities and stakeholders in a national level (central and regional governments, grower unions, advisors, research centers, universities, etc.).
  • Lead CTS actions oriented to achieve Emergency Use Permits in coordination with LPCTs and Regulatory Sciences department.

  • 5. Miscellaneous

  • Coordination with European TEs, within a network to search for synergies, analyzing CU opportunities (definition of common projects, coordination with IFS and Regulatory Sciences department )
  • Product stewardship. Produce materials and guidelines.
  • Give support to CTS and Sales Team on complaints / claims.
  • Analyze competitor knowledge (technical strengths and weaknesses).
  • Use and encourage use of digital platforms to promote of our activities, campaigns, products or services
  • Qualifications

  • Degree : Agronomist.
  • Other valuable requirements : PhD, MSc, strong agronomic background.
  • Experience : Valuable in similar roles. Strong technical knowledge about pests and crops.
  • Languages : Advanced written and spoken English.
  • Effective use of computers and MS Office.
  • Broad knowledge in agronomy / crop protection.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good listener and interpreter of views from a wide range of inputs.
  • Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills.
  • Great analysis ability.
  • Effective public speaking skills. Engage the audience in commercial / technical presentations.
  • Results and business oriented. Ability to work closely with customers and respond to their needs.
  • Problem solving and adaptability.
  • Good team worker demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the organization and team members.
