Job Description : Field Application Engineer

Reports To : FAE Manager Mobility & Transportation

Direct Reports : None

Location : Romania / Hungary


The Mobility FAE is the primary technical resource for the field sales force regarding the automotive mega trends Vehicle Electrification, Autonomous Driving and is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage (e.

g. early engagement) of the sales process across customer Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic and Poland. Working in conjunction with the account teams as the key technical advisor and system advocate for a wide range of Mobility & Transportation applications, the Mobility FAE must be able to identify customer platform requirements and provide together with the automotive BUs solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.

The Mobility FAE must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with the customer at several locations as well as ADI internal automotive BU’s, throughout the entire sales cycle.


  • Develop and maintain expert level for wide range of vehicle systems and sub system applications across multiple organizations and locations.
  • Listen, understand and convey customer requirements.
  • Provide design and specification development support to customers and automotive BU
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs / RFQs
  • Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth
  • Help to capture ADI value in the account system
  • Assist in the definition, design and development of new products and tools
  • Travel to customer sites together with Account Managers and System FAEs / SMEs supporting deep dive Mobility technology discussions
  • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is aligned with the ADI automotive BU’s Strategy.
  • Maintain professional business relationships with customer experts in close cooperation with the GAM / KAMs and System FAEs / SMEs.
  • Support execution and conversion with customer project management tasks and provide status of ongoing projects and future projects within MS Dynamics as part of the account teams.
  • Qualifications

  • BA / BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience >
  • 10 years in electric engineering and / or semiconductor

  • Preferable experience in automotive engineering, and all related product life cycle processes
  • Good understanding of automotive system engineering and vehicle architecture
  • A solid understanding of electric control systems and analog semiconductor applications
  • Strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Available for Travel 50%
  • Proven Customer Project Management skills.
  • For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.

    S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and / or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
