Job Details :
The is responsible for developing and facilitating recreational groups and programs which meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of patients.
Prioritization will be given to those in skilled nursing beds, long stay patients, and others identified or referred with ongoing needs.
This role works as an active team member providing support to participants which may include assistance with activities of daily living.
The Activities Coordinator will help to maintain an organized, sanitary program environment, and ensure that daily supplies for programs and activities are maintained and organized.
The Activities Coordinator reports to the Rehab Program Site Coordinator.Carries out general tasks that aide the patient in normal daily functions and support the nursing staff.
Education / Training :
High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional education or work experience in recreational or therapeutic group activities arebeneficial for this position.
Work Experience :
2 to 3 years in a healthcare setting working with senior patient populations. Completion of an organized program of on-the-
job training in a similar activity type position preferred. Experience working with groups and knowledgeable in various activities is beneficial.

Outstanding interpersonal skills, Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Able to speak with a variety of different groups, listen to their needs and work with large groups.
Strong organizational skills, Positive, professional appearance and attitude. Ability to encourages patients to attend or join an activity, motivate them and keep them charged throughout.
