Your responsibilities

As a regional export control manager your role includes to :

Support with the implementation of the regional export controls and sanctions requirements, per the NXP Corporate export control policy and export control procedures.

Monitor regional export control developments and ensure regulatory watch in your region, diffuse them to other EC team members and ensure a robust implementation of the export control changes.

Be the first point of contact for the government in case of license review, audits, etc.

Help improve, update and implement NXPs Corporate export control program (in your region) by translating it and giving practical advice / guidance to the business for its implementation, including training.

Determine the export control classification, but also - where relevant - the Harmonized System classification (HS). Classification refers to the complete semiconductor portfolio such as finished goods, semi-finished goods, equipment, tools, raw materials, technology and software as well as non-production items per EU, US and other applicable regional regulations where applicable.

Support in the development and implementation of continuous improvement actions to address any issues arising from investigations, disclosures, governmental visits, audits, and identified deficiencies.

Participate in business meetings to identify and discuss- export control requirements and risks, notably through contract or design reviews if local NXP entities need it.

Support local Export Control Liaisons (team meetings, business support, etc.) and work in close relationship and alignment with other trade compliance teams.

Your profile

You have a Bachelor or Master level with 3-7 years relevant working experience.

You have deep core competence around US, EU, Romanian, India export control and sanctions regulations.

You have knowledge of the Harmonized System, General Rules of Interpretation of the Harmonized Schedule including chapter notes, WCO explanatory notes, and government binding rulings and are experienced with applying knowledge of regulatory, judicial, international and / or local customs and export control decisions / views to products being classified.

You are eager to get knowledge of the semiconductor industry, sufficient to understand technical characteristics, and know how to engage with Engineering and Program Managers regarding Export Controls Classification (ECCN), and jurisdiction determination.

You have strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset, and experience with project management is a plus.

You have excellent communication skills in English language, both in writing and speaking.

Having an electrical engineering background or technical background in semiconductors is considered a plus.
