Garrett Motion is seeking an individual with a proven track record of developing, leading and growing best in class hard / soft facilities management services across a complex, international portfolio comprising 3M sqft manufacturing, R&D and offices facilities.
Reporting into the Global Head of Real Estate & Integrated Facilities Management, you will be an enthusiastic and inclusive manager, with demonstrable experience of leading and motivating diverse teams.
A track record of driving continuous performance improvement in operational service delivery for hard / services within a dynamic global portfolio is also key.
The successful candidate will help set the agenda for the strategic facilities management function internationally, covering all aspects of the facilities lifecycle : project management, facilities operations (including validation and compliance), site services and workplace experience.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Implement the Garrett facilities management strategy working closely with the Global Head of Real Estate & IFM, local stakeholders and site-based service delivery teams to minimise the risk of incidents affecting business continuity occurring and to develop an environment where Garrett employees can contribute to their highest potential, delivering innovative contributions to the business in a safe, efficient and most effective way.
Accountable for monitoring and maintaining the delivery of hard / soft services by Garrett FM suppliers and staff at a site level to drive continuous improvements in compliance, service levels, operating costs, energy & sustainability, quality and safety within the portfolio of services provided.
Promote and implement an IFM platform across the Garrett portfolio, ensuring standard processes, tools, metrics and procedures are consistently deployed, ensuring key metrics are in place, measured and exceed expectations.
Lead the integration of facility initiatives across all regions, ensuring FM resources align with and proactively meet business needs.
Act as the first escalation point for any issues. Responsible for creating and leading regional strategic infrastructure plans and executing operational plans and strategies with a 3-5-year horizon.
Provide direction to local teams to create plans, budgets, and schedules for facility purchases, construction and modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
Work with finance teams and business leadership to develop the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and to be accountable for all elements of the global FM budget, providing transparent financial tracking and reporting to ensure capital and expense budget goals & commitments are met.
Continually assess hard / soft services indirect spend to ensure service levels and cost efficiency targets are met. Establish program & project controls with aim of driving all facility services indirect spend through the preferred supplier base.
Interact closely with the finance community to ensure all cost benefits are validated, recognized and incorporated into all operating cost reports and capital plans.
Provide required information to senior leadership in a concise and timely manner for the development of capital plans and AOP development.
Direct the planning, response and recovery operations for emergency situations and disaster recovery and coordinate the development and implementation of associated response plans, business continuity, contingency planning and managing emergency arrangements, also overseeing the effective recovery of any critical facility post-incident.
Lead expansion activities including the identification and construction of new facilities including offices, production and R&D sites.
Act as internal SME with accountability for ensuring correct facilities project delivery under direct control or delivered through the preferred outsourced partner(s), ensuring that projects are delivered on time, cost and quality.
Drive operational excellence and productivity improvement across a matrix management system in conjunction with Functional Business Partners and GTX expert partners.
Responsible for translating strategic priorities into physical reality; aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results · Partner with Procurement in leading development of the FM sourcing plan, to include negotiations, setting up contracts, P2P administration and reviewing certificates of insurance for compliance.
Guide the business in delivering on local Health & Safety obligations under corporate HSE system requirements and help drive the global sustainability and wellbeing agendas.
Monitor annual independent Health and Safety and Fire Risk Assessments and Audits, taking full responsibility in resolving matters within prescribed timescales, ensuring correct financial planning and timely budget approval.
Lead on the assessment and grading of the facilities portfolio including the mechanical equipment, building shell, interior finishes, energy effectiveness, etc.
and develop recommendations for improvements. Ensure correct operation and management of the BMS network controlling critical mechanical and electrical services with responsibility for sound operation and maintenance of facility MEP systems inclusive of effective PPM regime and supporting documentations as required.
To keep abreast of new workspace concepts to drive innovation and collaboration and occupational efficiency. Ensure Workplace Standards are deployed across the regions and sustained in line with global polices & procedures.
Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain teams globally to define scope of service providers, coordinate supplier terms, and lead discussions with service providers regarding performance targets (SLAs) and performance review.
Develop and implement FM programs, processes and projects that aim to reduce short- and long-term operating costs and increase productivity or longevity.
To cover and act as deputy for the Global Head of Real Estate & IFM as required. · Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position.

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, with a thorough practical understanding of hard / soft facilities management, ideally supplemented by a relevant post-graduate qualification (eg RICS, IFMA, IWFM, NEBOSH, Prince).
Extensive (+ 5 years’) operational hard / soft Facilities Management experience in a similar, relevant or adjacent capacity / role, either within operations of a maintenance company or as a facilities manager and / or front of house / soft services leader.
Leadership capability with organizational transformation and stakeholder management plus change management experience, including previous supervisory and management experience, ideally leading multiple functions within a global matrix organization.
Experience leading a lean virtual organisation developing and driving corporate IFM strategy, infrastructure capabilities and asset optimisation in a fast-paced and high-growth environment.
Ability to build and sustain a high performing team across international and cultural borders. · Comprehensive working knowledge of contracts management in relation to the provision of services, including the management of external partners and related SLAs and KPIs.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills in English (interviews will be in English). · Significant management experience in progressive roles required with budget management, capacity planning, project management, OHSE, PPM, outsourcing, facilities procurement and / or process improvement responsibilities.
Knowledge of risk management, governance arrangements, control procedures & audit processes. · An equivalent combination of education, experience and aptitude may be considered acceptable as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experiences lists above.
Strong customer service ethic and the ability to prioritize tasks and to handle complexity. · Flexibility and adaptability to deal effectively with change in a positive manner.
Proven supplier management and strong project management and organisational skills. · Attention to detail. · Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, procedures within facilities management.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment. · Existing network of suppliers across FM service lines. · Familiarity with either PPM and project works and some knowledge of industry pricing.

Demonstrable experience of managing a heavy engineering Production facility and / or a modern office building. · Comfort in dealing with ambiguity and continuous change in a fast-paced and growing multi-national organisation.
