About the team

Worldpay’s eComm Engineering branch specialises in delivering online payment services to our customers and are looking for Engineers to join our team and take our systems to the next level.

Operating within a collaborative SAFe environment, we strive to deliver effective solutions for our customers using our evolving payment platform.

We are looking for proactive team players who would like to work in the Fintech sector, with likeminded individuals that want to develop robust and scalable applications for the growing market.

What you will be doing

  • Build high-performance teams establish mission, vision and purpose for individuals and teams
  • Perform career counselling and personal development for his direct reports
  • Attract, recruit and retain capable individuals from the market
  • Listen and support teams in problem identification, root cause analysis, and decision-making
  • Participate in defining and administering compensation, benefits and promotions
  • Eliminate impediments and evolve systems and practices in support of Lean-Agile development
  • Take subtle control in assignment of individuals to teams; address issues that teams cannot unblock; make personnel changes where necessary
  • Evaluate performance, including team input; provide input, guidance, and corrective actions
  • Serve as Agile coach and advisor to Agile Teams, may drive transformation process where appropriate
  • Remain close enough to the team to add value and to be a competent manager
  • Act as a Change Agent model to pursue organizational, technical & process improvements in the overall organization.
  • Facilitate building of Agile Milestones and Roadmaps, as well as the building plans that enable them
  • Champion value of non-functional requirements
  • Help develop, implement, and communicate delivery progress
  • Provide input and influence systems architecture and design
  • Participate in Agile Ceremonies; support teams by helping them remove impediments and implementing continuous improvement backlog items
  • Protect teams from distractions and unrelated or unnecessary work
  • Identify delays in the system by facilitating or participating in value stream mapping
  • Improve Concept to Cash of each product
  • Build partnerships with Suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, partners, and internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide freedom and safety, so individuals and teams are free to innovate, experiment, and even fail on occasion
  • Create and sustain an environment where the facts are always friendly’
  • Communicate openly and honestly with all stakeholders, in and out of his group
  • Keep backlogs and information radiators fully visible to everybody
  • Value productivity, quality, transparency, and openness over internal politics;
  • Understand, teach, or sponsor technical skills development in support of high-quality code, components, systems, and solutions
  • Incrementally adopt the Built-in Quality practices into software development process. Includes unit testing, component testing and acceptance testing
  • Foster Communities of Practice both internally and externally
  • Review quality of design approach and code from delivery teams
  • Embrace Dev Ops culture and foster Infrastructure As Code mentality
  • Embrace automation and ensure tests exist to prove that functional and non-functional requirements meet acceptance criteria
  • Ensure tests and releases are repeatable and reliable enforce CI / CD practices
  • Influence and help the adoption of the required processes & technological stack to secure both compliance and delivery success
  • Provide the required release cadence for the software to meet business demands;
  • Ensure teams alignment to SAFe
  • What you bring :

  • Degree level education (in related subject of computing, maths, science, engineering) or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to translate between business and technical terminology with clarity are key to success in this role.
  • Agile methods and tools practical, commercial experience of Scrum and / or Kanban.
  • A good track record of delivery in a similar environment
