PRODUCT OWNER / WORK PACKAGE MANAGER FOR AIRSPACE BUSINESS
The Thales Air Traffic Management Business Line manages a comprehensive list of systems which provide advanced and innovative safety nets and air traffic management services to support air traffic controllers and contribute to maintaining the highest levels of safety in the word airspace.
One of the major components of these Air Traffic Management systems is the Data Preparation (DPR), which has as operational functions the following :
System parameters (dataset) preparation
Maps generation & visualization
System parameter consistency checks
Dataset management & delivery (distribution)
The data managed by DPR are :
Airspace elementary and complex volumes
Airspace significant points
Airlines performance preferences
Rules for coordination state
Rules for transfer change
Letter of Agreement etc.
We are seeking smart engineers passionate by Air Traffic Management business to perform the management and development of Air Traffic Managements system components in cooperation with Thales France.
As a people leader, this role is responsible of scheduling, milestones and cost performance of the team. As a technical leader, this role is responsible of component architecture and team development deadlines.
After a period of knowledge transfer in France, this role will be in charge of the new Bucharest team coordination and works accordingly to AGILE development life cycle, through designing, developing and testing activities.
Organize and conduct the activities related to the development of the components
Assure and monitor the development of the required features
Contribute to the support of the system teams
Define the estimates for the works
Assure a proper communication within the project stakeholders
Contribute to the risk management plan
Performs the software engineering activities required to define a solution / product.
Experience on Design, Software Development & Verification
Understanding of customer’s needs and through life cycle concerns whatever the used means (e.g. advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, )
Contribution to the formalization of mission / function description, architectural design and requirements,
Designs products on the basis of appropriate calculations and simulations, manages specific components;
Prepares definition documents (or participates in their preparation) in order to comply with targets relating to costs, deadlines and quality, implements the resources and methods necessary for the production of models and prototypes
A Software Solution Specification and Design Engineer participate in co-engineering activities with the Systems Engineering team in order to ensure system-software consistency.
Ensure the right refinement of software components and compliance with the software architecture.
Participation in the product integration and verification phases;
Assembly of the solution / product elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behavior, interactions and performance, and to confirm that the requirements against which the solution / product has been designed are fulfilled,
Demonstration that the product data package is ready for release to production and to operation and support.
Configuration Management of the Software Configuration Items and Components
Change Management of the Software Solution
Ensuring the right contribution of software components to the systems integration & verification / configuration & change management activities.
Required competencies :
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or similar
Minimum 2 year experience in project management
Capacity to plan and control a planning
Initiative and innovation capacity
Capacity to analyze a problem and solve it
Risk management capacity
Synthesis and reporting capacity
Knowledge of the preparation of the specifications and object-oriented design
Knowledge of AGILE / Lean methods
Java Standard Edition
Continuous build (Jenkins, Sonar)
Highly proficient in spoken and written English
Would be a plus : C / C++
Automatic test tools (QFTest)
