Responsibilities and Scope

  • Responsibilities
  • Performing and owning multiple Credit Controls tasks and responsibilities with minimal guidance, and applying expertise and initiative to complex activities and decision making
  • Determining and advising on customer credit limits based on credit scores and customer history, investigating and communicating breaches, and working with strategic new customers on contracts and payment terms based on credit history
  • Support the maintenance and development of systemic rules and automations for debt management
  • Interacting with credit card companies to manage credit charge-backs
  • Negotiating down payment with customers and Sales Operations to allow customer to purchase above their credit limit
  • Analysing and researching customer’s receivables account delinquency, identifying at-risk customers, recommending account strategies to prevent delinquencies and liaising with collections to prioritise cash collections
  • Recognising customer and payment trends, and reporting KPIs and metrics to management
  • Identifying problems or inconsistencies and working with senior colleagues to resolve them in accordance with practice and precedence
  • Monitoring and analysing credit risk and delinquencies to identify bad debt / write-offs / cash basis recommendations and advising General Accounting teams of required adjustments
  • Collaborating with the broader Quote to Cash team and internal stakeholders to create a seamless, efficient end-to-end process and perform work in-
  • line with established Service Level Agreements with internal organizations

  • Maintaining an audit trail of complex revenue transactions, adjustments and other changes, and responding to enquiries from auditors
  • Assisting with ad-hoc work and Quote to Cash projects as needed, including, but not limited to process improvement initiatives and system changes
  • Establishing, maintaining and monitoring internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Contributing towards individual targets, reporting on progress toward KPIs and interacting with manager on performance
  • Working with and supporting the development of junior team members through training, coaching, and issue resolution support
  • Required Skills and Experience

  • Education and Experience
  • University degree preferably related to Finance / Business or equivalent experience
  • Typically 4-6 years of experience in Credit Control
  • Experience within a Global Technology or Software Company and operating within a SOX controls environment is preferred
  • Experience across multiple areas of the Quote to Cash process is preferred
  • Experience working in a Shared Service Centre is preferred
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Fluency in the English language (mandatory)
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to lead meetings and interact with difficult stakeholders
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with multiple, different information systems and business applications
  • Good proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Advanced accounting knowledge (including a basic appreciation of US GAAP and IFRS) and understanding of quote to cash process
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and make key decisions under pressure
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities, with an ability to meet multiple deadlines
