Management of a regional team consisting of business units’ logistics representatives from each of Emerson’s business groups.
The teams are responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic business plan which maximizes leverage across Emerson for one or more transportation modes.
Deliverables include maximizing value and providing supply chain solutions through company-wide competitive tension efforts, the selection of preferred carriers, and ensuring performance of the selected preferred carriers.
Mode Leads track industry and market trends and present quarterly updates to management on the team’s progress to defined key performance indicators (KPI’s) which focus on improving the speed, reliability, and the cost of Emerson’s transportation providers and their ability to support the global requirements of the supply chain.
Work closely with business professional and staff executives at all levels across the corporation to identify, implement and manage logistics issues, needs, and setting of priorities.
Oversee and direct a cross functional team to execute in depth analysis of the assigned strategic logistics mode as well provider assessment, selection and the implementation and continuous improvement in program strategies.
Develop overall logistics strategies and obtain agreement from the business professional and / or the executive sponsor.
Perform market research on spot market pricing, capacity / equipment, peak season, etc that will guide Team Leaders formulate a sound strategic plan in response to the latest market condition
Generate reports consistent with metrics provided by the logistics team
E-sourcing global / mega bids : Perform analytics from data collection, scrubbing, compilation and / or data standardization
Lead Carrier Training related to e-Sourcing activities on Ariba’s Platform
Perform saving analysis and present summary of findings and / or recommendation to the Team Leader
Establish, maintain and distribute a database for the assigned strategic data requirements that addresses the program profile, i.
e. data standards, documents, and SCO / OTM elements related to the assigned team as well as provider profiles, i.e. capacity, financial performance, quality rating, risk assessment.
Identify cost elements and drivers that support worldwide commodity total cost management.
Lead tensioning efforts (eSourcing or negotiations) including running global and regional e-sourcing bids, facilitate service provider training, data analytics and reporting metrics.
Coordinate the execution of contract and pricing appendices with Global Contract Management team and service providers.
Gatekeeper of Program Impact and e-sourcing plan of the assigned strategic logistic mode
Responsible for rate loading into Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) system post award, including the coordination and management of rate request related activities between Emerson business units, service providers, and SCO Support team
Support Global Mode Team Leader with the various efforts required to implement Leverage Program strategies such as cross dock expansion, pool distribution
Manage provider relationships on a long-term basis and ensure satisfactory performance at the divisional level by establishing, with divisional input, clear performance criteria and the means of measurement of the key performance indicators (KPI’s).
Ensure appropriate information is communicated to the impacted business units via the team members on a prompt and effective manner.
Issue resolution between business units and team members and escalation to GLBL’s as needed.
Development and of team members leadership skills, knowledge of logistics practices and procedures, and interpersonal skills.
Incorporate global processes and practices into regional strategies to ensure the regional team’s efforts align with the global mode team and other regional team strategies.
Including tensioning, provider review, KPIs and reporting processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline preferred
Minimum Five years supply chain management experience.
Strong understanding supply chain dynamics, including all modes of transportation
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Strong computer and analytical skills. Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English both verbal and written)
Familiar with Transportation Management System (TMS)
