Job Description

The Tactical Channel Specialist Team in Microchip supports the Channel partners in EMEA. The Tactical Channel Specialist Team is responsible for providing tactical support to distribution partners and web clients in providing quotes in a timely and accurate manner within defined pricing guidelines.

Reporting to the Tactical Channel Specialist Team Leader you will be part of the European Channel Quoting Team :

In your role you will have full ownership for preparing quotes for our distribution channel partners. This is a responsible role where you will be expected to understand our product portfolio, our pricing structures to optimise margins and tactical pricing strategy.

This role requires attention to detail, understanding our pricing strategy and customer segments to deliver the best quotes at the right margins to win the business.

As part of the preparation of quotes you will conduct extensive research using the Model N price quote system and other tools.

You will also work closely with our field sales and marketing teams. This is very much a team role and you will get to work in a supportive team environment where you will receive all the necessary training and coaching to ensure your success and that of the team.

  • Key job responsibilities / duties include :

  • Review quotes for existing and new business, assess which price should be quoted, process and complete the quotes in a timely manner whilst maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Conduct extensive research in the Model N price quote system and coordination with field sales and customers
  • Ensure quote and project linkage for traceability.
  • Support Channel partners with enquiries related to quotes, ship & debit and processes.
  • Increase our distributors self sufficiency : Train distributors on process / policies related topics, including quote submission, use of the system.
  • Quote follow up with a sound profit and loss attitude and in collaboration with Tactical Marketing and local Client Engagement Manager or Regional Distribution Manager or Account Development Specialist.
  • Support Customer Master Team in maintaining customer name database.
  • Be the first contact for tactical and process related distribution requests
  • Job Requirements

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs specifically Excel and Word and Powerpoint
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Knowledge of Model N price quote system preferred.
  • Must be service oriented.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent and professional relationship with distribution aimed at increasing business and mindshare.
  • Has a sound business sense and can judge when to escalate by formulating a business case for Tactical Marketing evaluation
  • Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree holder in Business administration or related discipline, or relevant experience.
  • Experience in a Pricing role or Customer Service or Supply Chain role would be advantageous.
  • Experience in the Technology, Electronics, Semiconductor Industry would be advantageous.
  • Special requirements :

  • Native or business proficient English languages required.
  • Other European language skills would be advantageous.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic international environment, to interact and communicate with different cultures.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Be open to ongoing learning and change
  • Willingness to travel occasionally in Europe or U.S. for training purposes
