Transfer Pricing Specialist

The Transfer Pricing Team is responsible for preparing and ensuring the submission of the Transfer Pricing documentation in the countries where The Group have presence.

This documentation need to comply with the OECD guidelines and with the local specific rules of the country where each Legal Entity is located.

This documentation need to comply with the quality standards of the company and need to be delivered to the stakeholders with a reasonable timeframe.

In addition, the Transfer Pricing is responsible for assisting and supporting the wider Tax and Customs team in case of audits by preparing additional documents, analysis, reports, and backup documentation.

The position of Specialist requires the necessary technical and soft skills in order to not only follow the Group guidelines but also to identify risk and opportunities.

Your high-level challenges :

Preparation of Transfer Pricing reports :

  • Work with Group Transfer Pricing Documentation Manager;
  • Responsible for preparing the Transfer Pricing documentation for medium to complex entities and the first Transfer Pricing documentation for entities.
  • The Specialist have a deeper understanding of the TP rules and can assess properly if an entity has followed such rules.

  • It need to have an understanding of the P&L and how it relates to the project results and to the TP methods applied. The Specialist can read and understand project data from project reporting systems and he needs to be able to contact project related teams to understand and gather the Transfer Pricing data for projects, in order to : Download, preparation and analysis of the correspondent transactions lists of the assigned entities;
  • Understanding of the transfer pricing policy of ALSTOM (Project transactions, management fees and services fees, itangible transactions for example IP License, and financing transactions like Cash-Pool, Guarante fees, intercompany loans);
  • Prepares and / or reviews split P&L for NCP calculations for whole entities and for projects; Drafting of the Local File of the assigned entities;
  • Can prepare a defence file for projects; Handle the handover of the Local File and the appendixes to the respective stakeholders.

  • The Specialist is involved with keeping the relantionship with external advisors & tax directors and should be able to conduct himself / herself in a professional manner and be able to handle complex situations;
  • The Specialist should be capable of optimize processes with other departments, implements new internal processes, and supporting the implementation of processes for new entities and be the owner of the Macro and drives its improvements.
  • This includes also the developing, setting and maintaining of Central Databases with information needed by Transfer Pricing Team as well as new tools.

    Updates the deadlines for the TP reports and understands the particularities of the TP report rules of the different countries :

  • The Specialist should be able to confirm the official deadlines to submit the Transfer Pricing documentation to the respective stakeholders;
  • The Specialist should be able to identify the particularities of the specific country of the entity for which the report is being prepared and should be able to propose solutions to close the gap when required (AS IS vs TO BE).
  • Four eye principle :

  • The Specialist is responsible for reviewing different types of documents from different users / preparers (calculation, transactions list, reports, local files, appendixes, analysis, etc.
  • specially reviewing the TP reports prepared by the Advisors and by supporting the Advisors with finalizing the open points (preparing / requesting Net Cost-Plus calculations discussing with FPMs for Transfer Pricing Methods for projects, discussing other Transfer Pricing Methods with relevant stakeholders;
  • Supporting the Advisors with the process improvement with the stakeholders;
  • The Specialist should be able to identify risks and opportunities in terms of data collection, data presentation, quality and accuracy;
  • The role involves the required awareness to identify situations where other team members require support and training.
  • Tax Audit Support :

  • The Specialist needs to understand and asses the complexity and special audit requirements and should be able to coordinate and align with the wider team the deliverables in terms of deadlines and content;
  • Based on the complexity and granularity of the audit the Specialist should be able to support the wider Tax and Customs team to close the gap in terms of requirements with the respective stakeholders (Head of Accounting, Group Tax and Customs Team, GFC Team, external advisors, etc).
  • Team members coordination, planning based on official deadlines, ensure the overall deliverables :

  • The Specialist should be able to assist the Transfer Pricing Documentation Manager / Senior Specialists with the calendar, roadmap and priority list of the reports to be delivered each period.
  • Your Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance areas, CFA / CPA / ACCA certification is a plus;
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in transfer pricing, accounting or finance;
  • Familiar with International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
  • Experience in SAP ERP, VCM, DWA, Impulse and GSI;
  • PC literate advance knowledge (MS-office tools);
  • VBA and Macros is a plus;
  • Proven work experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst or Tax Preparer;
  • Experience in project management.
