As Senior Software Engineer you will :
Design, development, and enhancement of the company's key strategic technology infrastructure including relevant scientific tools used by our scientific team for knowledge acquisition and integration
Writing technical documentation relevant to new development and maintenance releases
Developing software that adheres to Qiagen’s software development standards as well as best practices in development
Assisting in developing and executing test plans, unit tests, and test new and updated software programs to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
From professional perspective you will come with :
7 to 10 years’ experience developing Java web applications
Expert level of experience with Java programming language in a database environment is required
The mindset and flexibility required of working in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with Java, HTML, XML, SQL, Ajax, Apache, and other open source web- based application development tools
Proficiency working in a Unix / Linux environment
Knowledge and experience working in a software development team with an agile / scrum framework.
Excellent knowledge of SaaS, SOA, OOP, Unix and Java development in a cross-platform environment
Experience with Web Services (such as Spring and RESTful)
Knowledge of Continuous Development, Integration, and Deployment and prior experience working with CI tools will be an added advantage
Capable of debugging complex systems
Previous experience working in a bioinformatics or healthcare, regulated environment is preferred
Experience with Isomorphic SmartClient or the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) is desirable but not required
Ability to estimate level of effort for problem resolution
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
Individual fosters professional growth and shows initiative, focuses on principles of continuous improvement
Excellent written and oral communication, organization and documentation skills
Demonstrated ability to coordinate work and facilitate work including proven ability to use resources effectively and efficiently
