We are looking for an Associate Analyst to join the Country and Human Rights (CHR) team in Timisoara. As part of the CHR team, you will focus on delivering research for a suite of Sustainalytics’ country and human rights research products (Country Risk Rating, Country Screening, Human Rights Radar, Country Involvement).
You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality and timely research that meets product and quality requirements.
You may conduct analysis and assessments of company’s involvement in certain high-risk countries and the extent to which a company causes, contributes or is linked to human rights violations or breaches of international norms and standards.
Our research helps our clients better manage the reputational and legal risks, and ensure compliance with international sanctions, norms and treaties.
Monitor news related to companies and other relevant company information, to identify potential violations of human rights or breaches of international sanctions, norms and standards;
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on relevant high-risk countries and companies’ potential link to the violation of human rights or breaches of international norms and standards, and produce robust and compelling assessments of the company;
Prepare and present proposals and assessment to the Research Manager and Product Manager and prepare high quality write-ups for based on the analysis conducted, in line with the Sustainalytics writing guidelines;
Prepare product deliverables and participate in quality assurance processes prior to the research delivery, as necessary;
Support Team Leads and Research Manager in responding to client queries about our research as necessary;
Collaborate with internal stakeholders in the organization as necessary;
Contribute to the development of internal intellectual property and thought leadership through methodology review, documentation creation and other projects.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the international law and human rights, international norms and standards;
Excellent research, analytical and writing capabilities;
Excellent business English oral and writing skills are essential;
Meticulous and attentive to detail;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Resourceful, flexible and independent;
Ability to embrace change and work in a dynamic environment;
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel;

Nice to have
Graduate degree in relevant discipline (international law / relations, human rights, business, finance) is considered a plus;
Relevant work experience is considered a plus;
Knowledge and understanding of the SRI / RI market and financial services industry is considered a plus.
