I am responsible for high-level architecture and major projects that impact multiple organisations in the company. I help other engineers to accelerate their workflow to deliver projects on time with the highest coding standards and ensure that proper attention is given to planning and testing.
When a new big project comes around, I’m usually responsible for architecting the overall solution and changes necessary to our system, including data pipelines and API endpoints.
At Sensor Tower, what is the difference between office-based and remote employees? As we transition out of COVID-19 regulations, Sensor Tower has opened or has planned an office presence in four cities : San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and London.
I’m based in London, so I have the option of going to the office, but Sensor Tower will continue to be remote-friendly, so I also have the flexibility to work from the comfort of my home office.
How do you collaborate with your team as a remote employee? Working remotely can be different from meeting your colleagues in the office, but doesn’t mean it cannot be as productive or fun! We use Slack as our main communication tool for quick conversations and some business and technical discussions.
We use Zoom for meetings and a more personal connection with our colleagues. I often schedule pair-programming sessions when working with someone else on something tough.
Because Sensor Tower is a remote-friendly company, with our communication technologies, we all can work closely together across many time zones and collaborate with talented engineers all over the world.
