The position is available in Bangalore IN, Gdansk PL and Iasi RO.

We are hiring an Audit Manager (Audit Lead) for the Compliance Operations team. The Audit Lead will be a part of the Compliance Operations team and will be working closely with the GTS (Global Trade Services) Audit team.

The focus of this team is to validate the correct design and operation of internal controls for customs related risks, recommend improvements corrective actions and utilize RCA mechanism to close loop on the identified defects.

The Audit lead will work directly with program teams, Retail teams, Legal, global internal businesses, and external vendors to drive import and export compliance.

Role and Responsibilities :

The Audit Lead is expected to design and execute audit tests and procedures for TOD (Test of Design) and TOE (Test of Effectiveness), documented to a re-performance standard.

This includes supervising and coaching audit team members, coordinating audit execution and performing hands on compliance audits, focused on customs regulations including HTS Classification, Valuations and Country of Origin.

The Audit Lead is expected to prepare detailed and accurate reports and MI to communicate audit findings to Senior Management.

The Audit Lead will perform root cause analysis for issues identified and identify action owners for issue resolutions and to recommended remedial actions per company policies, SOP, and external regulator guidelines.

Other duties may include :

  • Prepare audit sampling, execute auditing, and deliver findings to associates and operations
  • Report on individual site’s performance against GTS Quality Audit goal
  • Ability to recognize patterns and trends in HTS classification behavior that result in violations of Amazon policies and procedures
  • Calibrate auditing processes across all sites
  • Must be able to verify, document, and communicate audit results, develop an audit report, and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective action and follow up
  • Audit in a professional, ethical, and objective manner using and interpreting applicable standards or requirements, with an awareness of potential legal and financial ramifications
  • Work actively with leadership to develop methods and process for improving GTS compliance Quality Metrics and display strong decision-making abilities
  • Identify and articulate issues, translate them into business requirements and escalate issues appropriately
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and influence work of others
  • Address special projects as necessary and adapt to the changing requirements of the business
  • Recognize gaps in processes and SOP and drive their improvements

  • Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in one of the following :
  • Audit, assurance and risk management preferable from Big 4 background; OR

    A deep understanding of customs procedures preferably with a background as a customs officer or background as a customs agent (broker)

  • Candidate must have at least one of the following :
  • Qualified customs broker or customs agent or Qualified Audit OR

    Risk Management or audit professional qualification such as IRM, CISA, IIA or similar risk and control qualifications

  • Understanding of risk and control frameworks and processes including design and implementation of controls and performing control assessments and control testing
  • Knowledge on Export & Import procedures
  • Experience handling confidential data.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with attention to details and process improvement skills

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Masters level education desirable.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt
  • Working knowledge in the field of Global Trade services
  • Experience in auditing third party vendors.
  • Experience in vetting and risk management a plus.
  • Experience in working in a highly metrics driven environment.
