Director of Product Engineering, Sports & Platforms

Role purpose :

The Director of Product Engineering, Sports & Platforms will be accountable for defining and delivering the Technology strategy to meet customer and commercial outcomes for Paddy Power and Betfair sports products, including Sportsbook and Exchange across UK&I and International jurisdictions, as well as defining and delivering the strategy for how PPB builds and maintains the platforms that enable our sports betting products and the internal tools that support our risk and trading capabilities.

  • In line with this, the Director of Product Engineering, Sports and Platforms, will lead the teams who : i) build and operate our market-leading group of services and products that make up our betting platform;
  • and ii) build and operate our risk, pricing and trading tools, 3rd party feeds and distribution platforms that drive our Sportsbook and Exchange products.

    The underlying priority is to lead and motivate the area to achieve predictable, rapid delivery of high-quality, innovative products that delight our customers, which are also scalable, secure and highly available.

    Using data driven insights and commercial awareness to guide development work aligned to the PPB strategy and work in close partnership with Product Management and Commercial teams.

    This role can be based in our Dublin, London or Porto offices, however, regular travel will be a necessity.

    Experience :

  • Experience of operating in a senior technology role within a fast-paced online / eCommerce organisation
  • Demonstrable experience of creating multi-faceted, multi-year strategies that contribute to commercial performance
  • Demonstrable experience of leading teams to successfully deliver against strategic objectives
  • Extensive experience of stakeholder management, up to and including C-suite drive value creation.
